Drew the new Doom Slayer!
ID Software dropped the DOOM The Dark Ages new trailer at the WrestleMania 41 day 2 event, showcasing the new demon sentinel.
This is a prequel to 2016’s Doom and is all set to release on May 15, 2025, for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC, with day-one access on Xbox Game Pass.
Fans are thrilled after seeing the trailer, which includes a jaw-dropping Doom Slayer-inspired entrance by WWE star Drew McIntyre.
DOOM The Dark Ages new trailer
The new trailer showcases the narrative depth of the game set in a techno-medieval world where the Doom Slayer, a Night Sentinel, battles Hell’s forces in Sentinel Prime.
Expect a darker, more story-driven experience than DOOM Eternal, with cutscenes detailing the Slayer’s origins.
A prominent scene depicts a cybernetic Cthulhu-like demon, implying a powerful foe capable of rivaling the Slayer’s power. This Lovecraftian beast, paired with a returning demonic overlord, promises exciting boss fights.
This time, the Slayer’s arsenal is even bigger and bada**. The trailer shows a revving bullet-spewing rifle, a shoulder-mounted machine gun, and the game’s version of the classic BFG-9000—a gigantic crossbow that unleashes medieval destruction.
Returning weapons like the shoulder cannon from DOOM Eternal, as well as new melee options like an electric gauntlet and spiky mace, add to the grounded, strafe-heavy gameplay.
The Shield Saw, shown in McIntyre’s WrestleMania set piece, allows players to block, bash, and shred demons with devastating precision.
Drew McIntyre’s epic WrestleMania 41 entrance
WrestleMania 41 was the perfect stage for the DOOM The Dark Ages new trailer. I just loved Drew in the Doom Slayer outfit.
He was the perfect choice and apparently, Damian Priest was emphasizing the persona of a demon in his entrance.
You can pretty much say that this was the perfect theme for Doom. Drew beat Priest in his match, slaying the demon as a Slayer.
The fans are pretty excited for DOOM The Dark Ages, which will launch on May 15, 2025 and will be available to play on PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
