No multiplayer mode in DOOM The Dark Ages?
Sadly, there will be no multiplayer game mode this time, as DOOM The Dark Ages will only focus on the story mode campaign this time.
Executive Producer Marty Stratton told Eurogamer that the choice was made early in production to focus only on the campaign, which is regarded as the largest and most broad in the series. “It’s been awesome to have the team focused just on polishing and finishing the campaign,” she said.
Hugo Martin, Game Director, explained that this focus allowed for unique features like the dragon and the Atlan mech, which they had intended to include in past games but were hampered by the demands of a multiplayer component.
