Next big game!

Hideaki Itsuno, the acclaimed director behind Dragon’s Dogma 2 and Devil May Cry 5, has announced that he is working on a new game project. He shared this message on X (formerly known as Twitter) and also invited new talent to join the development team at LightSpeed Japan Studio.

Fans were really happy that they would get the next big game from Itsuno san and also shared their wishes for the studio. Let’s check out more details in this article.

Father of hack and slash with next big project

There is no doubt that Itsuno is known as the father of hack-and-slash because of the famous title, “Devil May Cry 5.” This is what he shared on X, “A new project has already started. We will do our best to announce it to everyone as soon as possible. We are also looking for people to join us in developing the game! 開発者募集中です”

This statement represents an exciting new step for Itsuno, who departed Capcom after a 30-year tenure back in August 2024 to pursue prospects in “a new environment.”

Itsuno has been at the helm of LightSpeed Japan Studio, part of Tencent’s enormous gaming subsidiary, since its inception, directing the studio toward the creation of new AAA titles.

Although the new project’s genre and exact gameplay components are unknown, the announcement has sparked interest among fans and the gaming community alike.

Itsuno’s legacy at Capcom includes directing notable projects such as the Dragon’s Dogma series, Devil May Cry 3: Dante’s Awakening, and the popular fighting game Rival Schools: United By Fate. His transfer to LightSpeed Studios represents a new beginning, and as we wait for more specific details, the gaming community is buzzing with conjecture about what this new project may involve.

Many fans even asked Hideaki Itsuno to give them a new Devil May Cry game. Some of them even wanted a similar open-world RPG game similar to Dragon’s Dogma 2. It would be interesting to see what type of project the Lightspeed Studio and Hideaki Itsuno going to bring in the future.
