The devs’ are cooking
With the release of two new characters in the first half of Marvel Rivals season 1, fans are really enjoying the hero shooter game on a whole other level. Now with a recent interview with Metro, the game director of the game has released their future plans for new character release and esports scenario.
There is no doubt that the developers are always focusing on what the fans and their community wishes with the game and they will strive for that to make this hero shooter more enjoyable. Let’s check out more details in this article.
New heroes every season
Marvel Rivals’ continuous development revolves around its seasonal framework. Each three-month season will be divided into two parts, each featuring a new hero. This means that the fans can look forward to a new hero every 1.5 months.
“We just eventually want to continue to enhance the experience, and, you know, keep everyone excited in our community,” Guangyun Chen shared his thought.
Also, every season will introduce new season stories, lore, new maps and content that will ensure a fresh and evolving world for players to explore.
Chen stated that the selection of new heroes will be deliberately matched with the season’s theme or gameplay experience. With a current roster of eight Vanguards and seven Strategists at launch, the focus will be on improving the Duelist experience by adding more characters to the class.
This strategy is intended to provide gamers with a more in-depth tactical gameplay experience and a variety of team compositions in Marvel Rivals.

Esports vision for Marvel Rivals
Now moving on to the competitive scenario, Cheng discussed the esports strategy for the game. They are looking forward to a balanced growth for both competitive and casual gamers.
The goal is to establish an ecosystem in which esports events may “coexist” with the game’s quick-play mode, relying on the success of other titles in maintaining both competitive and casual user bases.
For now, we can only wait and see how well the game will perform on the bigger stages in the esports scenario. The Twitch Rivals is happening soon and Marvel Rivals is going to be a part of it on January 19 and January 20, 2025.
