All new amazing update for the console
PlayStation fans, wake up! Sony has just released a new PS5 update and this is going to elevate your experience even more.
We are talking about a new energy-efficient Power Saving Mode for select games and multi-device DualSense support, which was awaited for a long time. The update is going to drop on September 17, 2025, and let’s check out more details in this article.
PS5 update
Power Saving Mode
One of the main headline features of the system update is the Power Saving Mode. This is especially designed to cut down on your PS5’s energy use during supported titles.
How to do it? First, head to the System Settings > Power Saving to toggle it on. Do remember that this is for the games that have been updated to handle it.
For now, we have confirmation from PS5 blog, that Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, Demon’s Souls, and Ghost of Yōtei will be getting a patch for this feature.
Sony has also promised that there will be no hits to visuals, frame rates, or performance in non-supported games.
Multi-device DualSense support
Connecting your DualSense to other devices has now become easier with the new PS5 system update.
The upgrade allows DualSense and DualSense Edge controllers to link to up to four devices simultaneously—including PS5, PC, Mac, or mobile.
Once linked, devices are assigned to one of four slots. Switching is a breeze. Hold the PS button and a face button (e.g., PS + Triangle for slot 1 and PS + Circle for slot 2).
The controller’s LEDs illuminate to indicate which slot is active—one light for slot 1, up to four for the last. This also works with Remote Play, allowing you to broadcast PS5 games to your PC without missing a beat.
This feature, which was first tried in beta, allows gamers to play across many platforms. Imagine moving from console campaigns to PC multiplayer with ease—pure convenience.
