Project Scarlet with Civil War Saga
There has been some interesting news about Ubisoft and its cancelled Assassin’s Creed game, which was based on the Civil War Saga.
This exclusive report was revealed by Game File’s Stephen Totilo. This was yet another tale of revenge and redemption, which was recently scrapped by Ubisoft. Let’s check out more details in this article.
Cancelled Assassin’s Creed game: Project Scarlet
This was named as ‘Project Scarlet’ and the game was set in the turbulent years right after the Civil War. The protagonist was supposed to be a former enslaved black person returning to the Reconstruction-era South to dismantle the rising terror of the KKK.
This was shaping up to be the next big action RPG release for Ubisoft, with the aim of 2027-2028 release. The sources suggest that the team in the studio was pretty excited about this project and was waiting to deliver some perfect revenge and justice in the next big title.
Why did Ubisoft cancel this Assassin’s Creed game?
Despite all the hype and excitement to bring this project to life, it got cancelled at the end. The backlash over Assassin’s Creed Shadows and its Black samurai protagonist Yasuke, was pretty huge.
The game is considered kind of a flop as Ubisoft has still not revealed any numbers about the sales. There were also some concerns related to the current American heated political change.
Conclusion
This is actually one of the great ideas and story plots that I have seen from Ubisoft in recent years. This game could have been huge, but sadly it got cancelled.
For now, Ubisoft is delivering the free DLC update for Assassin’s Creed Mirage and there are also rumors about the Black Flag remake release for 2026.
