Khel Now predicts PKL 10 winner (Puneri Paltan vs Haryana Steelers)

A new champion will be crowned this season.

Puneri Paltan, the runners-up from the previous season, surprised everyone when they decided to release their season nine skipper Fazel Atrachali who led a young team to help them qualify for the finals for the first time. In the PKL 10 auction, they made other teams sit and watch as they unleashed a brilliant strategy as they replaced the experienced Iranian with a youngster from Iran, Mohammadreza Shadloui Chiyanneh.

Appointing Aslam Inamdar as their skipper ensured that the Puneri Paltan are moving towards building a squad not just this season but also for the future. It reaped immediate rewards as Aslam Inamdar and Shadloui, two of the league’s top all-around players, have helped Pune dominate the season thus far. This team’s defense has helped them earn the tag of favorites to lift the title.

The young Abinesh Nadarajan has had the most influence, and their coach BC Ramesh has spoken highly of him, stating that he would represent India in the future. Gaurav Khatri at the Right corner has been the biggest pillar of strength for the team while the left corner is guarded by Mohammadreza Chiyanneh. The likes of Sanket Sawant and Aslam Inamdar are not easy to get away with for the opposition Raiders.

The more pressing fact is Mohit Goyat, their primary Raider has around 24 defensive points. With almost all players contributing to the defense both individually and as a unit, the opposition Raiders should be careful when they step onto the mat in the playoffs. While the defense is cohesive, the Raiding unit complimented each other making them a team with an all-pronged attack.

Puneri Paltan will be crowned as champions of PKL 10.

Pune might be topping the points table, but none of their Raiders feature in the top 10 players with the most Raid points. Aslam Inamdar is the attacker-in-chief and the duo of Mohit Goyat & Pankaj Mohite have been consistent in scoring points. With three players in the starting seven, the Raiders remain fresh throughout the game making them relentless in attack. They finished on top of the points table at the end of the league stage and are more likely to finish on the podium on the day of the finals.
