Telugu Titans lost their 16th match of the season out of 18 played.

In front of a packed crowd at the Thyagaraj Indoor Stadium, Dabang Delhi beat the Telugu Titans 44-33 in match 103 of PKL 10 at the Thyagaraj Indoor Stadium in Delhi on Saturday. Ashu Malik’s 20 points and constant danger meant he was the star for the home team on the night.

In a highly competitive first half, each time Dabang Delhi K.C. threatened to surge into the lead, the Titans hit back to draw level. Rather than trading points, the teams traded minutes of dominance for almost the entirety of the first quarter of the game.

Our defenders Ashish and Yogesh played brilliantly: Rambir Singh Khokhar

Speaking about the victory, the Dabang Delhi K.C. Head Coach Rambir Singh Khokhar said, “There’s a huge difference in performance when a team gets all out and when a team doesn’t get all out. Our defenders Ashish and Yogesh played an excellent game and stopped raiders such as Pawan Sehrawat. And Manjeet and Ashu Malik performed well in the raiding department.”

What was the plan of the Telugu Titans going into this match?

Pawan Sehrawat, the captain of Telugu Titans, said, “In defense, our right cover was consistently giving away points. We planned that Ankit would go for tackles on the left corner and Sandeep Dhull on the right corner, and I would support them. Today, there was also a plan to give opportunities to other raiders, so most of the raids were carried out by other raiders.”

No mistake was made by the coach in our loss – Pawan Sehrawat

Pawan Sehrawat said, “I do not consider the coach’s mistake in my team’s loss because I had suggested changing the playing 7. I admit my mistake, and going for tackles several times was also my own decision. I wanted to focus on defense by giving new raiders a chance. I specifically provided opportunities for the youth to gain experience on the Do-or-Die raids.”

He further added, “When Telugu Titans brought me in the auction they expected me to showcase my all-round skills and win matches single-handedly, but I could not stand up to their expectations which is my fault too. I was the guy previously who used to be always in contention for the title but now things have changed.”
