Men's
Group A
Tamil Nadu beat Chandigarh ( 50-34 )
Both the teams had previously lost their respective group games thus bowing out of the Kabaddi at National Games. This match was a more consolation win for Tamil Nadu men beating Chandigarh. The match was a one-sided affair.
Services beat Maharashtra ( 48 - 38 )
Services look like a strong unit winning all their group stage encounters and thereby finishing 1st in Group A. Maharashtra has a relatively good side with PKL stars Aslam Inamdar and will look to fight hard in the semi-finals.
Group B
Haryana beat Goa ( 55-20 )
In Group B Haryana look like a strong side by finishing 1st. Goa was the semifinalist at the Senior Nationals but couldn't live up to the expectations. Goa beat Uttar Pradesh comprehensively in their last encounter by a good margin but suddenly lost the plot against Haryana.
Uttar Pradesh beat Gujarat ( 31-26 )
A great comeback from Uttar Pradesh beating Gujarat after suffering a loss against Goa in the last game.
Women's
Group A
Himachal Pradesh beat Gujarat ( 47-16 )
Himachal Pradesh bounced back well after losing the opening encounter to Maharashtra. In their last group game, HP beat Gujarat by a hefty margin thereby qualifying for the semi-finals of the Kabaddi event at the National Games 2022.
Maharashtra beat Bihar ( 36-20 )
Maharashtra beat Bihar and also won all their group encounters topping the table. They created an upset by beating Himachal Pradesh in the 1st match. Maharashtra will be the team to beat in the women's section.
Group B
Tamil Nadu beat Punjab (31-29)
The match was a close encounter where Punjab was trailing by just one point in both halves. With Rajasthan not taking part, it was a three-way battle for two semifinals spot. Haryana won all their matches and qualified as the toppers of Group B with Tamil Nadu taking the 2nd spot.
