Haryana Steelers finished at the top of PKL 11 points table.

Haryana Steelers etched their name in history by clinching their maiden PKL title in Pro Kabaddi 2024 (PKL 11) with a dominant 32-23 victory over the Patna Pirates in the PKL 11 final. The win marked a remarkable turnaround for the Steelers, who fell agonizingly short in PKL 10, finishing as runners-up. That heartbreak, however, became the fuel for their triumph in PKL 11.

Led by the talismanic Mohammadreza Shadloui, who delivered yet another stellar performance, the Steelers showcased their mettle throughout the season. Shadloui’s 7 points in the final were instrumental, but it was the collective effort, including Shivam Patare’s 9-point haul and Vinay’s consistent contributions, in the PKL 11 final.

“It feels really great that the team won. Jaideep played really well and served the role of the captain really as well, and now he has given the team the gold medal and the trophy, now there is nothing more than that,” said Haryana Steelers coach Manpreet Singh speaking in the press conference alongside Captain Jaideep Dahiya after lifting the PKL 11 trophy.

In PKL 10, Haryana Steelers came close but lacked the finishing touch in the final moments losing 28-25 to Puneri Paltan . This time, under the leadership of Jaideep, their defence stood tall, and their strategies clicked when it mattered most. The all-important ALL OUT in the second half of the PKL 11 final showcased their ability to handle pressure and close out games.

“Last season we missed out on the trophy by a whisker but the team was really great and we only didn’t have Shadloui. After losing the final, we worked really hard, we brought in Shadloui and two new raiders. I had three silver medals and I wanted to convert them to gold. And the team kept telling me that would change the colour of the medal and I am very happy that they have finally done so,” he added.

For the Steelers, PKL 11 wasn’t just about redemption; it was about establishing themselves as a force to be reckoned with. From topping the league stage to lifting the trophy, they proved they had learned from past disappointments and emerged stronger.
