PKL 11: Key battles to watch out for in Match 72, Jaipur Pink Panthers vs Haryana Steelers

Jaipur Pink Panthers will face Haryana Steelers for the second time in Pro Kabaddi 2024 (PKL 11) this Saturday. In their first meeting this season, the Steelers defeated the Pink Panthers convincingly by 37-25. Can they extract a similar result this Saturday as well? Or will Arjun Deshwal and company get their revenge?

Haryana Steelers are the table-toppers at the moment with 9 wins out of 12 matches in PKL 11. They have been in tremendous form and have dominated most of the sides, including the Pink Panthers this season. On the other hand, Jaipur Pink Panthers have also been playing some top-notch kabaddi this season, however, the absence of a supporting raider has troubled them at times, including their previous encounter with the Steelers.

The main battle going in this PKL 11 match will be Arjun Deshwal against the dominative Haryana Steelers’ defence. If Deshwal is kept off-court for long, the Pink Panthers have been seen to struggle for the revivals. However, the Pink Panthers’ defence is nothing less than that of the Steelers.

But the only difference is going to be the number of raiders in both teams. The Steelers have second and third raiders like Shivam Patare and Vishal Tete, whereas the Pink Panthers haven’t found an in-form raider yet. Here are a few important player battlers you have to watch out for in match 72 of PKL 11.

Arjun Deshwal vs Mohammad Shadloui

Arjun Deshwal is the sole raider from the Jaipur Pink Panthers who have made an impact on the opponents. Deshwal has 108 raid points in 10 matches in PKL 11 and is looking in stellar form. He had a few off-rhythm outings, but he has come back with better results recently. He has 56 raid points in the last 4 matches and can be lethal for the Steelers.

Haryana Steelers have just the man to restrict the force of Deshwal. Mohammadreza Shadloui has been incredible for the Steelers. He is having another fabulous season and is one of the top 3 defenders this season. In addition to that he has also been scoring raid points recently which has made him even more of a threat to the opponents. If Shadloui can keep Deshwal off-court he will definitely put the Pink Panthers in trouble.

Vinay vs Ankush Rathee

Vinay has been the top raider for the Haryana Steelers since the last season. He is continuing his position pretty well this season as well and has brought important points for his team. Vinay has scored 84 raid points in 12 matches in PKL 11 and has been a great support to his defence.

Ankush Rathee has been phenomenal for Jaipur Pink Panthers in the right corner. He and his signature ankle holds have put all raiders in trouble. He has scored 31 tackle points this season in PKL 11 and has been an integral part of this strong defending unit. If he can keep Vinay and the other raiders off-court, Deshwal’s job will get easier.

Shivam Patare vs Reza Mirbagheri

Shivam Patare is another raider who has brought crucial revivals for the Haryana Steelers. Patare has scored 57 raids and 3 tackle points in 12 matches in PKL 11. His role has been to get the important revivals and even get success in the do-or-die raids, and he has done exactly that.

If the Pink Panthers can control him as well, the raiding department of the Steelers will be left out and the revivals will become their problem. Jaipur Pink Panthers‘ experienced Iranian, Reza Mirbagheri will be the one to take responsibility for that. Mirbagheri has been spectacular for the Pink Panthers this season. He has scored 24 tackles and 6 raid points in PKL 11. If he can continue to dominate with his dashes and put pressure on the opponent, the Pink Panthers might get their revenge this Saturday.
