PKL 11: Key battles to watch out for in Match 84, Gujarat Giants vs Puneri Paltan
Gujarat Giants lost 49-30 against Puneri Paltan in the reverse fixture earlier in PKL 11.
Gujarat Giants will play defending champions Puneri Paltan in Match 84 of Pro Kabaddi 2024 (PKL 11) at the Shaheed Vijay Singh Pathik Sports Complex in Noida.
The Adani Sports Line-owned franchise have won two of their previous three matches, drawing the other, thus, showing signs of a fightback. With 13 points from these three games, they have already eclipsed their tally of 12 points from the first 10 games in the PKL 11.
While it may be a long shot, a run of consecutive wins by the Gujarat-based franchise will hand them an outside shot of securing a place in the top six.
As for their opponents on Friday, Puneri Paltan have struggled since their captain Aslam Inamdar was ruled out for the season due to a knee injury. They have won only one game out of the six they have played without last season’s MVP.
We take a look at the key battles that could decide the fate of the game between Gujarat Giants and Puneri Paltan.

Guman Singh vs Gaurav Khatri
Guman Singh has the ninth-most raid points of all the raiders in the PKL 11. He has four Super 10s in the last six games, highlighting the consistency and form that he was bought for the Giants. He scored 12 points in the win against Bengal Warriorz.
Gaurav Khatri has 46 tackle points in the PKL 11, only three less than the league leader Nitin Rawal of Bengaluru Bulls. Khatri also has four High 5s. The right corner will be tasked with putting a halt on the impressive run of Guman Singh.
Parteek Dahiya vs Mohit Khaler
Parteek Dahiya has picked up form heading into the business end of the season. The all-rounder played a pivotal role in the win against Telugu Titans and the draw against Dabang Delhi. Don’t be surprised when the youngster shows up as a man on a mission against the defending champions in the PKL 11.
With Aman out of the team, Mohit Khaler has taken on the initiative of scoring tackle points for Puneri Paltan. He has been the highest points scorer through tackles in three of the last four matches of the defending champions.
Jitender Yadav vs Pankaj Mohite
Jitender Yadav has the most tackle points for Gujarat Giants in the PKL 11 during their recent upturn in form. He averages three tackle points per game for the Ram Mehar Singh-coached side when they have performed well.
Pankaj Mohite has the most points through raids for the Puneri Paltan. He also has taken over the leadership duties in the absence of Aslam Inamdar in the PKL 11. The Pune-based franchise will depend a lot on the duo of their stand-in captain and Mohit Goyat to keep scoring points through raids.
