PKL 11: Key battles to watch out for in match 11 Tamil Thalaivas vs Puneri Paltan

Defending champions Puneri Paltan have kicked off PKL 11 with two consecutive wins.

Puneri Paltan, currently at the top of the Pro Kabaddi League Season 11 (PKL 11) points table, have made an excellent start to the season. They secured dominant wins over Haryana Steelers (35-25) and Patna Pirates (40-25), showing their all-around dominance. Tamil Thalaivas, too, have begun their PKL 11 campaign on a strong note, defeating Telugu Titans convincingly with a 44-29 scoreline.

With both Tamil Thalaivas and Puneri Paltan off to strong starts in PKL 11, it promises to be a fiercely contested encounter. As both teams head into this crucial match on October 23, these key battles will play a huge role in deciding the winner.

Sachin Tanwar vs Gaurav Khatri

Sachin Tanwar has been a consistent performer in the league, guiding both Gujarat Giants and Patna Pirates to finals in three of the six seasons he has participated in. Now representing Tamil Thalaivas, he will be eager to continue his stellar form and help his new team aim for their maiden Pro Kabaddi League title.

Sachin had a strong start to PKL 11, earning 10 raid points from 21 raids in his first match, with a successful raid rate of 47.61%. His knack for delivering crucial points, both in raiding and defending, makes him a player to watch out for.

Gaurav Khatri, tasked with filling the void left by Puneri Paltan’s Iranian powerhouse Mohammadreza Chiyaneh, has embraced his role with confidence. With 69 tackle points in the previous season, Gaurav’s ankle holds and chain tackles have made him a defensive stalwart.

In PKL 11, he’s already off to a great start, earning 13 tackle points in two matches with an impressive 81% tackle success rate. His strong defensive presence will be crucial in keeping Sachin’s raiding efforts in check.

Narender Kandola vs Aman

Narender burst onto the scene for Tamil Thalaivas last season, stepping up when leading the team to their first playoff appearance in PKL history. His consistent performances earned him the “New Young Player of the Season” award, and he continued his momentum into Season 10.

With 444 points in just 44 games across two seasons, Narender has established himself as a force to be reckoned with. He started PKL 11 strongly, earning 10 raid points in his first match and maintaining a successful raid rate of 50%.

Aman, Puneri Paltan’s left-corner defender, has had a breakout start to the season. In the first two matches of PKL 11, he secured 10 tackle points with a high tackle success rate of 67%. His ability to make timely defensive interventions will be critical in containing Narender’s attacking prowess and keeping Tamil Thalaivas in check.

Mohit Goyat vs Sagar Rathee

Mohit Goyat, a key player in Puneri Paltan’s raiding department, has been one of their top performers over the years. With 475 points in his career, Goyat has consistently delivered for his team and will be expected to continue his form this season. In PKL 11, he has already earned 12 points from two matches, maintaining a strong not-out percentage and contributing in both raiding and defence. His partnership with his teammates will be crucial in leading Puneri Paltan’s charge against Tamil Thalaivas.

Sagar Rathee, captain of Tamil Thalaivas, has been a pillar of their defence since his debut in Season 7. With over 200 tackle points in the last three seasons, he’s among the top defenders in the league. Now leading the side, Sagar will have to manage his defensive duties and strategic responsibilities. His ability to stay on the mat and control the game will be crucial in keeping Tamil Thalaivas competitive, and his defensive skill will be tested as he faces off against Mohit Goyat.
