On Ayan and Devank’s impact
Young stars Ayan Lohchab and Devank Dalal stole the spotlight, combining for 25 points and each earning a Super 10. Their efforts, along with a late defensive surge, helped the Pirates pull off a hard-fought victory against Jaipur’s relentless attack, led by Arjun Deshwal’s impressive 20 points. This win pushed Patna up to third on the PKL 11 points table as they wrapped up the Hyderabad leg.
“The left-right combination of Devank and Ayan is the ace for us so we are going to continue with these two raiders only. That is our plan, ” said the Patna Pirates coach.
The match began with Jaipur taking an early lead, led by captain Arjun Deshwal, who was relentless with his attacks. Patna was forced into an early ALL OUT by the 10th minute, as Jaipur dominated the first half.
On the next matches in PKL 11
However, Patna responded in style with an ALL OUT of their own just before halftime, flipping the score to 25-21. Now they will go on to face Patna Pirates in the second leg of PKL 11 in Noida on November 11.
“We have a great team, we didn’t play badly in any matches until now, maybe we have made mistakes and lost the match, but we didn’t play badly. So even in the upcoming leg, we will play well, ” added Devank.
On moving on to the next leg in PKL 11 in Noida
In the second half, Arjun Deshwal continued his heroics, notching a massive 5-point Super Raid. Yet, Patna’s resilience shone through as Ayan and Devank rallied, narrowing the gap.
A series of Super Tackles kept the Pirates alive, and in the final minutes, Shubham Shinde’s successful tackle sealed the thrilling win for the Patna Pirates, showing the sheer intensity of PKL 11. Jaipur Pink Panthers will now look to revive their trajectory when they face Bengaluru Bulls in the first match of the second leg of PKL 11.
“I have confidence in my team, I believe they will turn around. We will look at the mistakes and come back stronger in the next leg,” said Arjun Deshwal.
