On Rahul Sethpal’s timely tackle

With stellar contributions from Shivam Patare, Vinay, and Mohammadreza Shadloui, Haryana Steelers booked their second consecutive spot in the PKL final.

“Rahul is an experienced player. He is the wall of our team. I have nothing to say about the tackle he did. It was just outstanding, ” said Haryana Steelers captain Jaideep.

On reaching the second consecutive PKL final

The game began with both teams trading blows as they looked to take control. While UP Yoddhas briefly gained a three-point advantage, the Steelers kept fighting back with Vinay and Shadloui leading the charge. On the other side, Gagan Gowda and Sumit were the driving forces for the Yoddhas. By halftime, the Steelers managed to edge ahead with a narrow 12-11 lead.

“The team is playing very well and they are in very good shape, full of confidence. I believe that the team will fight and win the final match. We will give our 100 per cent to make sure, that we clinch the trophy this time,” said Haryana Steelers coach Manpreet Singh.

On UP Yoddhas’ campaign in PKL 11

In the second half, the Steelers turned the tide with an early ALL OUT, putting the Yoddhas under immense pressure. Patare and Vinay caused problems for the opposition’s defence, while Shadloui added crucial points. Despite a spirited effort from Gagan Gowda, who completed a Super 10 in the dying moments, the Steelers’ defence stood tall to seal the win.

“We had young, new players, and the team played very well, even this match, if the defence had worked well things would have been different. Gagan, Hitesh, Bhavani, they did very well this season and they will do better in future,” concluded UP Yoddhas coach Jasveer Singh.
