PKL 12: Top five best moments from Day 25 matches

Dabang Delhi holds the top spot at the end of Day 25 of PKL 12.

Day 25 of Pro Kabaddi League 12 (PKL 12) began with a thrilling contest between UP Yoddhas and Bengaluru Bulls. The Bulls started strongly, inflicting an all-out on the Yoddhas, but the Yoddhas quickly struck back.

The match remained neck and neck throughout, with UP gaining a slight lead in the dying minutes. However, the Bulls made a strong comeback and forced the game into a tiebreaker. In the tiebreaker, the Yoddhas played smartly and snatched a hard-fought win from the Bulls.

In the second game, U Mumba faced Dabang Delhi. The first half was closely contested, with only 2 points separating the teams. However, in the second half, Delhi displayed a brilliant level of Kabaddi and dominated U Mumba. Ashu Malik led from the front with 23 raid points, as Dabang Delhi secured a commanding 21-point victory over U Mumba.

The day was packed with thrilling moments and incredible performances. On that note, let’s take a look at the top five best moments from Day 25 of PKL 12:

5. Sandeep Kumar’s Super 10

With no other U Mumba raider stepping up to rescue the team, Sandeep has become their go-to man in recent matches. He once again featured on the scoresheet today with his 2nd Super 10 of the season, scoring 11 raid points against Dabang Delhi.

His efforts in the first half kept the game balanced, but despite his brilliance, U Mumba suffered a massive 21-point defeat.

The team is clearly missing the raiding contributions that Ajit Chouhan used to provide, and the defense looks unstable as well. U Mumba fans will be hoping that Sandeep maintains his fine form and helps the team bounce back.

4. Bhavani Rajput’s Super 10

Bhavani, who was the top scorer for the Yoddhas last season, had a poor start to this campaign and has so far fallen short of his previous contributions. But today, he was brilliant.

With Gagan Gowda having an off day, Bhavani stepped up, led the raiding attack, and scored his first Super 10 of the season against the Bulls. His crucial points kept the team in the game, and the Yoddhas eventually played a tiebreaker, where they played smartly to clinch the win.

3. Alireza’s Multi-Point Raid

Alireza Mirzaian has been the star for the Bengaluru Bulls this season, consistently proving that the team was right to trust him. Once again, he delivered a brilliant Super 10 against the Yoddhas, but what stood out most was how he scripted a comeback in the dying minutes.

UP held a narrow lead, yet Alireza kept picking up raid points, whether through touches or bonuses. With just 25 seconds left and UP leading by 2, he went in for a raid, leapt over Hitesh, and escaped Sumit’s support tackle to secure a multi-point raid that leveled the scores and forced a tiebreaker. However, despite his brilliant efforts, the Bulls ultimately suffered a loss in the tie-breaker.

2. Mastermind Sumit

Sumit Sangwan, the captain of UP Yoddhas, has contributed heavily to all of the team’s victories. He had scored three High 5s in their last three wins, and today he added 4 more tackle points during the match.

However, a late mistake from him forced the game into a tiebreaker. But Sumit redeemed himself. He rose to the occasion, first with a brilliant tackle in the tiebreaker, and then, during his raid, he smartly picked up a bonus point before being tackled. That single point proved decisive, eventually securing a crucial win for the UP Yoddhas.

1. Ashu Malik’s Dominance

Ashu Malik had been struggling in his last two games, managing just 8 raid points combined. But today, he was unstoppable against the U Mumba defense, repeatedly infiltrating their setup.

Ashu registered his 6th Super 10 of the season, finishing with a massive 23 raid points, the highest by any player in a single game this season. He kept the scoreboard ticking with consistent raids and even produced super raids along the way.

With this stunning performance, he climbed to 2nd place on the list of top raiders, just 3 points behind Devank Dalal. His brilliance helped Dabang Delhi to a convincing win over U Mumba, taking them back to the top of the points table.
