PKL 12: Top five best moments from Day 26 matches

Dabang Delhi holds the top spot at the end of Day 26 of PKL 12.
After many thrilling matches, the Jaipur leg of Pro Kabaddi League 12 (PKL 12) concluded. On the last day of the second leg, Bengal Warriorz secured their third win. The Warriorz shot down the Patna Pirates in a high-scoring encounter, with Devank Dalal leading his new side to victory against his former side.
In the second game, the Tamil Thalaivas brought an end to Jaipur’s winning streak and finally returned to winning ways.
The Thalaivas spoiled Jaipur’s dream ending to their home leg and secured a nine-point win. Arjun Deshwal and Nitesh Kumar teamed up really well and helped their side bring an end to their losing streak.
The day was filled with incredible performances that lit up the stadium. On that note, let’s take a look at the top five best moments from Day 26 of PKL 12:
5. Pirates’ Raiding Duo
Patna Pirates suffered yet another loss today, but a positive takeaway for them was the performance of their raiding department. Ayan, who has been brilliant this season but out of form in the last two matches, regained his touch by scoring 14 raid points.
He was well assisted by his partner Maninder Singh, who has struggled this season but looked sharp today, contributing 12 crucial raid points. However, despite the efforts of both raiders, the Pirates suffered another defeat due to costly mistakes from their defence.
4. Match Saving Raid by Himanshu
Bengal Warriorz bought Himanshu for 39.20 lakhs in the auction; he had not played yet due to injury. He featured in his first match of the season today and was given only a few raids since Devank was in touch.
But with just about a minute left in the game, and Devank unable to score against a defense of two, Bengal sent Himanshu for the do-or-die raid. He first escaped Hamid’s dive and then managed to get Ankit, who rushed in to assist.
With this brilliant raid, Bengal inflicted a crucial blow on the Pirates, and with very little time remaining, the Pirates had no real chance to make a comeback.
3. Arjun Deshwal’s Super 10
Tamil Thalaivas had been going through a slump, losing three games in a row and dropping to the lower end of the points table. Captain Arjun Deshwal admitted in a press conference that his mistakes had contributed to the team’s losses.
However, he led from the front against Patna Pirates, scoring his 6th Super 10 of the season with 13 raid points against the Panthers. Although he was tackled a few times, his performance, combined with a strong display from the Thalaivas’ defense, was enough to secure a victory.
2. The Corner Duo of Thalaivas
Tamil Thalaivas’ defense was in dominant form today, scoring a total of 18 tackle points, including two brilliant super tackles. The main impact came from their corner duo, Suresh Jadhav and Nitesh Kumar.
Suresh contributed 5 tackle points, while Nitesh added 7, keeping Jaipur’s raiders in check. They also managed to silence Nitin Dhankar, helping secure a crucial victory for their team. Thalaivas fans will hope that their defense continues to perform at this level in every game.
1. Devank Dalal’s Super 10
Devank Dalal played for the Patna Pirates last season and made a breakthrough, earning a name for himself. He was the team’s best raider and led them to the finals as the lead scorer.
He had his brother-like teammate, Ayan, by his side back then, but today, Devank faced the same Pirates and Ayan while representing his new team, the Bengal Warriorz, and secured a win.
He dominated throughout the match, scoring 22 raid points, surpassing his previous 21-point game against the Steelers. Devank completely dismantled the Pirates’ defense, never letting them settle, and his outstanding performance helped the Warriorz secure their third win of the season.
