PKL 12: Top five best moments from Day 3 matches

Bengal Warriorz start their PKL 12 campaign with a win.

The third day of Pro Kabaddi League 12 (PKL 12) started with a thrilling encounter between Tamil Thalaivas and U Mumba. Both teams were coming off a victory in their opening match.

Things were going pretty well for the Thalaivas; however, U Mumba staged an outstanding comeback. Their raiding duo, Ajit Chouhan and Anil Mohan, snatched victory from the Thalaivas’ hands in the final moments.

The second match was a one-sided affair, where Devank Dalal scored 21 raid points and settled his old score with Manpreet’s Haryana Steelers. The day was filled with drama and entertainment. On that note, let’s take a look at the top five moments from Day 3 of PKL 12:

5. Manprit’s Super Debut

There’s nothing better than watching a new star emerge. Manprit, playing his first PKL match, scored a Super 10 on debut and finished with 13 raid points in total. He completely changed the momentum of the game with a super raid, after which Bengal Warriorz never looked back and solidified their lead.

4. Arjun Deshwal’s Super 10

The ‘Raid Machine’ Arjun Deshwal was in top form once again, scoring his second and back-to-back super ten of the season.

Despite receiving very little support from his teammates, Arjun delivered a brilliant performance and fought hard. However, his efforts weren’t enough, as U Mumba snatched victory from the Tamil Thalaivas in the final moments.

3. Shivam Patare’s Super 10

Even though Haryana faced defeat today, Shivam Patare’s performance was a positive side for the team. Last season’s final hero for Haryana Steelers managed to score 17 raid points tonight and fought his heart out to keep his side alive in the game.

2. The duo of Anil and Ajit

U Mumba acquired the services of Anil Mohan in the auction for Rs 78 lakh, the highest price paid for a player who had never played in a PKL match before.

There were many expectations from him, and so far, he has proven himself as a bright prospect for U Mumba. Both he and Ajit scripted a remarkable comeback for the team against the Thalaivas, scoring 8 and 9 raid points respectively, and helping their side secure another win.

1. Devank’s fiery celebration

Last season’s top raider, Devank Dalal, is back, this time in a new jersey and with a clear goal in mind. He stepped onto the mat today with a personal score to settle against the Haryana Steelers. Scoring 21 raid points, he annihilated the Steelers’ defense and secured a comfortable win for the Warriorz.

After the match, he tore up a piece of paper, flashed it toward the Haryana dugout, and twirled his mustache in celebration of the victory.
