PKL 12: Key player battles to watch out for in Match 38, Haryana Steelers vs Patna Pirates

Haryana Steelers will look to maintain their winning streak in PKL 12 against Patna Pirates.

Preparations have started for another blockbuster clash in the Rivalry Week. Pro Kabaddi League Season 11 finalists, Haryana Steelers and Patna Pirates, will battle for two points. The performances have been below par for both teams, and they want to get some momentum in the Jaipur leg.

The defending champions will be looking to maintain their momentum after winning a close match against the Gujarat Giants. The Steelers have won three games so far and will be looking for their fourth win of the season.

On the other hand, last year’s runner-up, Patna Pirates, will be looking to bounce back stronger after a heartbreaking loss against U Mumba by the barest of margins. They would look to make a fresh start against Haryana and will be looking for their second win of the season.

On that note, let’s take a look at the key battles to watch out for between the Haryana Steelers and Patna Pirates in PKL 12.

Shivam Patare vs Ankit Jaglan

In Naveen’s absence, Shivam has been leading the raiding department in a commendable manner. Shivam has scored 41 raid points in 5 matches, scoring 9 points in the last game. Shivam has been consistently performing for the Haryana Steelers and will look for a match-winning performance again.

If Haryana needs to win the match, he will be the crucial player for them and will be looking for a Super 10 against the Patna Pirates

On the other hand, Ankit Jaglan, who is struggling with form, has shown signs of improvement in the last match. He scored three tackle points against U Mumba and will be hoping to be back in his groove against Haryana.

Patna’s defence is a huge concern, and Ankit has been a let-down so far. He will be hoping to bounce back against Haryana to help Patna Pirates cross the finish line.

Rahul Sethpal vs Ayan Lohchab

Rahul Sethpal has been a consistent performer for the side. He has scored 14 tackle points in 5 matches, scoring 3 points in the last game with a brilliant super tackle. He will be hoping to carry Haryana’s defence and will be looking to stop Patna’s raiders, especially Ayan.

On the other hand, Ayan has been in phenomenal form this season. He has scored 67 points in 5 matches, with a brilliant 21 points against U Mumba. Although he could not finish the game for the Patna Pirates, this time, he will be hoping to help Patna.

Pirates have been hugely dependent on Ayan for raid points. Patna’s total raid points in the last match were 25, out of which Ayan scored 21 points, which is a big concern for Patna Pirates.

Vinay vs Deepak Rathee

The second-best raider for Haryana Steelers, Vinay, has been doing well as the second raider. He has been providing consistent support to Shivam. He would like to continue the same performance in this clash as well.

In the last match, Vinay scored 8 points, moving his tally to 30 points in 4 games. He would like to do a Super 10 against Haryana.

Deepak Rathee, who is also struggling with his form, will be looking to deliver a strong defensive performance against the Haryana Steelers.

He managed to get just 2 points in the last match and hasn’t been impressive so far. He has scored a mere 11 points in 5 games and will be looking for a better performance next time.
