PKL 12: Joginder Narwal opens up on Ashu Malik's injury after Dabang Delhi's win over Telugu Titans

Dabang Delhi holds the top spot at the end of Day 19 of PKL 12.

Dabang Delhi have shown no signs of slowing down anytime soon. Delhi clinched their sixth consecutive win in Pro Kabaddi League Season 12 (PKL 12). Delhi have shot down everyone who has come in their way and currently find themselves at the top of the standings with six wins in six games.

Telugu Titans became their latest prey as Joginder Narwal’s side secured a close 29-33 win in Jaipur courtesy of a match-winning performance from Neeraj Narwal, Fazel Atrachali, and Saurabh Nandal.

Dabang Delhi defeated Telugu Titans to take the top spot at the end of Day 19 of PKL 12. After the match, both teams shared their views.

Thoughts on the win

Dabang Delhi head coach Joginder Narwal opened up about his thoughts on the win and said, “It feels absolutely great, and it was a very tough match. They are a good team, and Ashu has a minor injury.”

“I have also played Kabaddi for about 30 years, and even now I play like this in the Kabaddi ground with Fazel. So it just remains as if I am the only one playing inside. So I am quite involved with them in the game anyway, and I enjoy it in the match as well,” he added.

Team’s performance

Fazel Atrachali spoke about his side’s team performance and said, “I am happy that we have a good team. We have a good coach; he is a mastermind of Kabaddi. He gives us the plan, and that plan is a success. Our team combination is good, and I am happy that we won another match. Today our defence was better, so this is like a balanced team, and I am so happy that I am playing for Delhi.”

Neeraj Narwal’s performance

Joginder Narwal spoke about Neeraj Narwal’s performance and said, “I had already told them before the match that, assuming Ashu is not with you in the match, Neeraj and Ajinkya had to take the responsibility of raiding. I have Fazel, Surjeet, and Saurabh in defense, and they had told me not to worry. The players did a good job, and I am happy.”

What went wrong?

Telugu Titans head coach Krishan Kumar Hooda was asked about what went wrong for his side, and he said, “What can I say? We also failed in this matter. Some player makes mistakes, and this has happened three times. We were ahead in the first half and even in the second half, but then we lost. What can I do about this? The players go inside and they play. We will go and think about what needs to be changed.”
