PKL 12: Ajay Thakur gives big statement on Jasveer Singh's resignation

Jasveer Singh resigns as UP Yoddhas head coach after the team’s poor show.
Telugu Titans registered a remarkable win over the table-toppers Puneri Paltan on Saturday to confirm their spot in the top 8 of Pro Kabaddi League Season 12 (PKL 12). Although the Paltan fielded their backup players to give rest to the regular starters, the Titans didn’t take the game lightly and earned a well-deserved victory.
Captain Vijay Malik led from the front with a superb Super 10, while Bharat Hooda provided solid support with 9 raid points. Shubham Shinde also contributed with a High 5.
This victory marks the Titans’ return to the knockouts after a long wait of seven seasons, sparking celebrations among their fans. After the match, representatives from both teams addressed the media.

Team Performance under your coaching
Telugu Titans head coach Krishan Hooda expressed his gratitude towards his team and the franchise, saying:
“Everyone is a good coach, but I have worked really hard with this team. As you know, this team was known for finishing 12th every time. Last year, we almost made it to the playoffs but missed out by just one position. This season, our team played very well, and we performed even better.”
“I want to thank everyone associated with the team, especially my franchise, our management, and our CEO, Reddy Sahab, who stays with the team 24 hours a day. I also thank our entire support staff and the physios, who do exceptional work. This success is a result of teamwork, and I’m proud to be one of the reasons behind the team’s strong performance this season,” he added.

On the preparation of the team ahead of the playoffs
Coach Krishan Hooda assured the Telugu Titans fans and said, “From now on, every match will be do or die, it’s now or never. I want to tell our fans that we will work hard and won’t disappoint you. We will perform really well. I can’t guarantee wins or losses, that’s in God’s hands, but this Telugu Titans team will be seen playing even more aggressively in the upcoming matches.”
Puneri Paltan
On the decision to play new faces
Puneri Paltan came into the match fielding their backup seven, and head coach Ajay Thakur shared his thoughts behind the decision.
He said, “We have already qualified, and we decided to give the backup players an opportunity. If we don’t give them a chance, we’ll never know their capabilities. They have been practicing for the past 2–3 months, and they deserve one chance to show how good they are.”
On Jasveer Singh’s Resignation
Puneri Paltan coach and legendary Indian player Ajay Thakur shared his thoughts on Jasveer Singh’s resignation, saying:
“This league has 12 teams, and only one of them can win the title. In the end, one team has to finish last, and that’s part of the game. Sometimes you have a bad season, and the next one turns out great. I’ve played kabaddi for 15 years, and there were times when I wasn’t scoring many points.”
“Life has its ups and downs. It’s not entirely the coach’s fault if a team performs poorly; he can only guide the players. But it’s good that Jasveer accepted his mistakes and didn’t blame anyone else. Still, I feel he shouldn’t have resigned; he has been the face of the UP Yoddhas for many years,” he added.
