PKL 9: Three cities likely as hosts for new season

More cities are likely to be added in some weeks.

The ninth season of the much-awaited Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) is slated to begin in the month of October, 2022, onwards. After a heated battle in the auctions that took place on the 5th and 6th of August 2022, all the teams have completed their squads and will be looking forward to performing well in the upcoming season.

With only two months to go before the commencement of the tournament, fans are bracing themselves for some high-octane action in the upcoming edition of the tournament. Dabang Delhi, who have crowned champions in the last edition will be hoping to defend their title in the upcoming one.

PKL 2022 Venues - Three likely, more to be confirmed soon

Like in the earlier years, the tournament will be taking place across different venues where fans will be allowed to enter the arena to witness their favourite stars in action and cheer for their respective sides.

Khel Now's sources have confirmed that three venues for the upcoming season have been shortlisted and also that more would be confirmed later. As of now, the venues that have been in talks are Pune, Ahmedabad and Bengaluru.

PKL 2022 Auction- Pawan Sehrawat becomes the most expensive player in the history of the tournament

The auction for this year's tournament was held on August 5-6. The bidding saw various teams lock horns to acquire the services of key players, hoping they would propel their side to title victory in the upcoming season. Star raider Pawan Sehrawat became the most expensive player in the history of the PKL auctions after he was bought by the Tamil Thalaivas for a whopping sum of ₹2.26 crores.

Meanwhile, Vikash Kandola - who was part of the Haryana Steelers side until last season - found a new home in Bengaluru Bulls after he was bought for ₹₹1.70 crore. The raider became the second-most expensive buy ever in the PKL.
