The Indian men’s hockey team delivered a miraculous performance that will be remembered for ages. A famous quote by Shah Rukh Khan from the movie Chak De India rightly fits this situation: “If every player of this team played the greatest hockey of his life in these seventy minutes, then even God cannot ask for these seventy minutes back from you.” The Indian team truly lived up to the statement, refusing to let the red card shatter their confidence and delivering a historic win.

South Africa also lost two early wickets but with the help of Tristan Stubbs and Quinton de Kock, they stabilized their innings. Heinrich Klaasen’s quick fire 50 then put South Africa in control of the match. But just when it seemed like the Protea would run away with the match, India bounced back with two back-to-back wickets.

Hardik Pandya and Suryakumar Yadav then combined to win India the World Cup, with the latter taking brilliant catch off Pandya’s bowling to dismiss David Miller.
