Indian Player Ratings: Chhangte and Rai deliver capital performance for Delhi, Sahni flops for Delhi
The capital club continued their domination of the Punekars in the ISL.
FC Pune City
Kamaljit Singh - 4/10
The defender was at times he seen well in the midfield, leaving his defence in a difficult position. The first goal they conceded was a clear indication of his lapses. He along with Gurtej Singh misread the aerial ball and it was left to Paulinho Dias, to nod home. He couldn't really do much about Lallinzuala Chhangte's goal and couldn't judge the brilliant strike from Matias Matibaje.
Sarthak Golui - 6/10
The young right-back actually did pretty well in his ISL debut. Golui was not only alert to Chhangte’s threat and cleared his danger mostly through the first half, he was also impressive going in attack. The 20-year-old put in some brilliant crosses into the box, and showed a lot of energy throughout the game. However, he could’ve done better to stop Chhangte from delivering the cross for the opener, but was quite helpless to do anything about the other two goals.
ISL Moments of the match
Gurtej Singh - 4/10
The central defender had a horrific evening in Pune, as he made some terrible errors which cost points for his team on the day. Although, he was doing fine at first, he seemingly lost his grip in the second half and failed to track Dias for the first goal. He then made a hilarious mistake in judgement minutes later, allowing Chhangte to go through on goal and seal the deal for Delhi. The former Mohun Bagan defender had a night to forget and will need to massively improve his game going forward.
Jewel Raja - N/A
The midfielder suffered a freak injury just after kickoff and was taken off the field after that.
Rohit Kumar - 7.5/10
He was outstanding in the midfield for Pune. His good ball control and understanding with his teammates was a treat to watch. He did produce some brilliance outpacing defenders but again ran out of ideas going forward. He had a rather solid game in the middle of midfield for Pune, asserting himself as a force of relativity stability for them.
Baljit Sahni - 3/10
The striker who replaced Jewel Raja Shaikh did look promising in the beginning but his brilliance faded as the match progressed.
Substitutes
Lalchhuanmawia Fanai - 5.5/10
Lalchhuanmawia wasn’t that exciting as he normally is against Delhi Dynamos and he really struggled to get possession because of his team opting to move through the right wing. He was defensively decent as he didn’t let many attacks form through the right-hand side and couldn’t really do anything about all the goals his side conceded.
Kean Lewis - 5.5/10
Just before kickoff, Kean Lewis was in the headlines as Ranko Popovic benched the poster boy of the Stallions. The winger hasn't played competitive football for the best part of four months and the Pune boss admitted he's being cautious about using him. He came on in at the 71st minute mark, not making the most of the opportunity.

Delhi Dynamos
Albino Gomes - 6/10
the 23-year-old was among the top three costliest goalkeepers and was a mere spectator as the Delhi defence stood like a hard nut to crack in front of him. He had a save accuracy of 86.66% in ISL 2016, but there was little to do for him as the Pune strikeforce were pedestrian in their approach. But, in the few chances he had to showcase his ability he made some good saves especially against Marcelino who tried some piledrivers from edge of the box.
Save of the match
Pritam Kotal - 6/10
The country’s first choice right-back was brilliant in the midfield. The 24-year-old defender combined well with the strikers and had a good understanding with his fellow defenders including keeper Albino Gomes. But, all his good deeds took a back seat when he was involved in an on-field scuffle with rival players.
Pratik Chowdhary - 5.5/10
It was Pratik Chowdhary’s first game in Delhi Dynamos colours, but the defender couldn’t show the same assertiveness in defense on the day. While he did well to fend off Emiliano Alfaro in the first half, he seemed to relax up a bit after Delhi’s third goal. He gave Alfaro too much space for him to pull one back for Pune’s first goal and couldn’t do anything to clear Marcelinho’s pass for Marcos Tebar to score in the final minute.
Lalhmangaihsanga Ralte - 6/10
Popularly known as Sena Ralte, the 29-year old has also played for Mumbai City FC. His understanding with his old teammate Choudhary worked really well on the night, with the two linking well in defense. He also possessed defensive awareness highlighted by the fact that he made a number of interceptions.
Vinit Rai - 8/10
The young midfielder was given his first start of the season by the Dynamos and looked to be quite stable in central midfield with the help of the experienced foreigners. Rai kept the ball rolling with his teammates and didn’t really make any errors in judgement throughout the game, which was a really good one for him. He wasn’t that attacking like Dias, but did his job well in the midfield and made sure to keep possession for his team.
Lallianzuala Chhangte - 9.5/10
Hero of the match - Chhangte
Was in the thick of the action for Delhi. The pint-size Chhangte outpaced many Pune defenders and his footwork left the Pune defence in disarray. He assisted to put Delhi ahead and later found his name in the list of scorers and was the livewire behind Delhi’s victory. The starlet grabbed all the awards of the day. Chhangte topped up to run at a speed of 35.8 Km/h, falling short of the record speed of 36.9 Km/h by Gareth Bale.
