Indian Player Ratings: Gurpreet Singh Sandhu puts in an improved display, Rehenesh TP falters
(Courtesy : ISL Media)
NorthEast United Talisman Sunil Chhetri had another poor outing as his side edged past The Highlanders.
Bengaluru FC bounced back from the setback they received against Mumbai City in just 48 hours, by defeating NorthEast United 2-1 in the Indian Super League. A Mislav Komorski own-goal gave Bengaluru an early lead, but The Highlanders restored parity through Federico Gallego. Out-of-favour Bhutanese forward Chencho Gyeltshen scored late in the second half to hand The Blues three crucial points.

Bengaluru FC

Watch: The custodian put in an inspired display
Gurpreet seems to be one of the many Bengaluru FC players who has upped the ante after losing to Mumbai City. The custodian managed to pull off some big saves after conceding one from between the legs.
Udanta Singh - 6.5
Udanta Singh was lethal upfront on the counter and went back to defend in his own half as well. However, the Manipuri winger still lacked the killer product in the final third that he is known for. Udanta put in four crosses and made two tackles in the game before being replaced by Edmund Lalrindika.
Sunil Chhetri - 6.0

Watch: Chhetri had an average night
Sunil Chhetri doesn't seem to have recovered from the Asian Cup shock. The Bengaluru skipper had another average outing against NorthEast. He did contribute in the build-up phase of attacks, but was wasteful in the final third. He completed the game with a passing accuracy of 61%.
Rahul Bheke - 6.5
Rahul Bheke, unlike his usual self, did less in attack and more in the defensive aspects of the game. With the Bengaluru side suffering from a lack of ideas, Bheke seemed to concentrate more on not letting the opposition score many. He ended with four clearances and four blocks.
Harmanjot Singh Khabra - 7.0
Harmanjot was ineffective in the game against Mumbai City. Hence Carles Cuadrat decided to play him upfront allowing more freedom and space to make runs and dictate the game. The Bengaluru #10 did improve from his previous outing but doesn't look like the answer to the questions cast on the Bengaluru FC attacking abilities.
Kean Lewis - 6.0
From being the best player on the pitch to disappearing in the next, Kean Lewis failed to make any impression on the game. When it seemed to be the right time for him to seal his place in the starting lineup, this performance wouldn't have helped him much. Lewis was replaced for the goalscoring Bhutanese forward Chencho.
Rino Anto - 6.5
Rino Anto was brought in to the lineup after a not so impressive performance by Harmanjot against Mumbai City. The incoming full-back though failed to be the difference, suffering from the fatigue of playing the second game in 48 hours. Rino had two clearances and two blocks in the 71 minutes he was on the field.

Edmund Lalrindika - NA

Gursimrat Singh - 5.5
Gursimrat replaced Anto and came up with a strong defensive display in the chaotic minutes of the game, especially in the moments when Juanan was out of position.

NorthEast United
TP Rehenesh - 5.5
Rehenesh conceded twice, but both of the goals weren't anywhere close to him, unlike the one Gurpreet letgo from between his legs. The shot-stopper faced three shots, of which two were on target and he failed to make any saves in the game.
Reagan Singh - 7.0
Reagan kept the dangerous left wing of the opposition quiet for long. The star of the previous game for Bengaluru, Lewis, was marginalized by Reagan's marking. Speaking of his offensive duties, he put in five crosses.
Robert Lalthlamuana - 7.5
Defend the wings and half of the Bengaluru's attack would count for nothing. Robert partnered Reagan to stop the wingers' advancement well on both the flanks, ensuring that the Bengaluru forwards had no joy in the wide areas. It was his ball that helped NorthEast equalise the scoreboard through Federico Gallego.
Lalthathanga Khawlhring - 6.5
NorthEast had most of their attacks built from the centre, with the flanks focusing on silencing the dangerous wingers of Bengaluru. Lalthathanga was tasked to help his teammates and not let Chhetri and Lewis advance much. Offensively, he delivered five crosses into the box.
Rowllin Borges - 6.0
Borges had two poor outings at the Asian Cup. But, his performances for NorthEast United have been altogether different and reflected the confidence the national team bpss showed in him. But, the midfielder wasn't anywhere near the level of what he has been throughout the season for The Highlanders and it is mostly why his team suffered against a toothless home side.
Redeem Tlang - 6.0
Redeem was played in an uncharacteristic position and one can't blame him or his coach for it. Short of options, Eelco Schattorie played him as the second striker and the move wasn't fruitful at all. The midfielder wasn't in the attacking scene throughout his stay on the pitch.
