Nicolas Pepe needs to adapt to Premier League- Unai Emery
The Ivory Coast winger became the Gunners most expensive signing when he arrived in the summer from Lille for £72mn.
Arsenal boss Unai Emery has said new club-record signing Nicolas Pepe must adapt and acquaint himself quickly to the Premier League.
The former Lille winger has started three of Arsenal's six games so far this season but is yet to showcase his explosive best, that saw him lead the club to a second-place finish behind PSG in Ligue 1 last campaign.
The Spaniard claimed to be satisfied with the winger's opening salvo in the English top flight, albeit maintaining that Pepe can quickly elevate his ability a notch to match-up with the league's best. Emery also reiterated the club's commitment to helping the player do the same.
Emery said, "He needs to adapt. He is playing well, but also we need in our organisation to be strong with every player to improve a lot," before adding, "He is playing well, but progressively we know there is going to be more from him to help us and I want him to take the last step quickly in adapting for us."
It has been a rather topsy-turvy week for the North London giants, who ignominiously squandered a 0-2 lead to be held 2-2 by bottom-placed Watford that drew widespread criticism, but the Gunners bounced back in style by defeating Eintracht Frankfurt 0-3 on Thursday to commence their Europa League campaign on a winning note.
Speaking about his objectives for the club, Emery was tranquil and highlighted his vision for the team and its fans, despite maintaining that the road will be filled with defeats and struggles. "When we are winning I stay calm, when we are losing I stay calm," he said.

We want to give them special moments and feel connected with us because it is not only how we can win, it is also how we can play and how we can give them our energy, our capacity, our skills and enjoy each match with us."
Arsenal host Aston Villa next in the Premier League on Sunday before playing Nottingham Forest in the Carabao Cup third round in midweek.
