Some of these clashes are definitely going to be lived down the memory lane years from now.

The English Premier League kicks-off on the 10th of August this year and the game couldn't get any more intense. Last season, saw a neck to neck margin of one point between the domestic treble winners, Manchester City and the UCL winners, Liverpool while the Champions League qualification between Arsenal, Tottenham, Chelsea and Manchester United was a race run until the last weekend of fixtures.

Leicester City, Wolves and Everton emerged as constant dark horses throughout the season to water down the hopes of the top 6 and give them a run for their money. Clearly, the Premier League is no longer a monopoly of a couple of teams.

It has arguably become the most competitive league in Europe over the last few years and is on a trajectory to become more intense. Large paychecks, massive viewership, exorbitant broadcasting rights, star players all find their place in England, always.

On that note, let's have a look at what would be some interesting mouth-watering fixtures this year:

10. Leicester Vs Wolves 11/8/19

Jamie Vardy saw a red card the last time these teams played each other.

Both the teams have only gotten stronger every passing year. With the reputation of being the party spoilers for the big six, their match would certainly be an interesting one to watch. Wolves have been a thorn in the campaign of all the teams last year and the Leicester manage to pull off a David against a Goliath once in a while.

Though neither of the teams are poised to break into the top 4 and a bookie would vouch for that. However, they seem to have better odds for either of them breaking into the top 6 and getting themselves a well-deserved Europa League campaign in their hands. The party in Europa might not be able to host both; this fixture is a possible dress rehearsal for that coveted 6th position.

9. Manchester United Vs Chelsea 11/8/19

The bumper opening Sunday already has a lollipop match for us! The Red Devils have had a very forgettable season last year, finishing 6th a.k.a. "the wooden spoon of the top 6" while Chelsea have fared significantly better, pocketing the Europa League trophy.

However, the Blues were sucker-punched with the FIFA transfer ban for the entire year, Eden Hazard going off to Real Madrid and Maurizio Sarri leaving Stamford Bridge. Once proud and mighty, the historic teams would be battling out with crutches and broken backs this season. Nevertheless, this match should be circled in everybody's calendar.

8. Wolves Vs Manchester United 17/8/19

Manchester United had their egos badly bruised last season by the men of Nuno Espirito Santos. For the first time since 2003 with Manchester City, the Red Devils failed to win a match against a newly promoted side. They were served on a platter when they visited Molineux Stadium and were mercilessly kicked out of the FA Cup quarterfinal.

The only silver lining for United was that they were able to salvage some respect by being able to keep a level score at Old Trafford. This season, Manchester United would certainly be looking to settle some old scores and that would make this match stand out.

7. Arsenal Vs Tottenham Hotspurs 31/8/19

The classic North London Derby is always a matter of pride for the bitter rivals. Arsenal managed to win 4-2 at home and kept the scoreline 1-1 at Wembley. However, they lost out in the Carabao Cup in a shocker, causing the fans to lock horns on whether the North London is red or white. Tottenham have had a dream run in the UCL last year and had decent success in the PL as well.

Arsenal under Unai Emery's reins had problems in the defense buy compensated it with a lethal attack. Incidentally, this match is being played out by the runners up of both the European Finals. Whether you watch this or not, North London would most definitely.

6. Liverpool Vs Everton 5/12/19

Divock Origi scored a last-gasp winner at Anfield during the last Derby.

What we have here is a classic English rivalry between two sides that just can't stand the sight of each other, and when the two clubs from Liverpool face off on the pitch, you know that sparks will fly. Both the clubs have a proud history in the Premier League; Liverpool have the second highest number of titles, while Everton have stayed in the top flight of English football the longest.

Liverpool are the better team on paper and have had better seasons than their local counterparts of late but it's nearly impossible to guess the scoreline of a Merseyside Derby.

5. Sheffield United Vs Norwich City 7/12/19

The top EFL teams would be rubbing shoulders with the big boys this season. This fixture would be a remainder of their EFL rivalry for the top honours in the second division. The primary concern for these sides would be to make sure that their don't relegate back down and hope to make some use of the promotion money with some signings to aid their campaign. With new influxes of resources and players, it would be intriguing to see who comes out on top in a new environment.

4. Manchester United Vs Arsenal 28/9/19

Arsenal are the only team who can compete with United in terms of history apart from Liverpool. Long gone are the days when this fixture used to decide who would clinch the title. These days it has been reduced to a race for the top four.

Ironically, both the teams didn't finish in the top 4 last and would probably square off against each other in Europa League. Both are in the dire need of complete makeover and rejenuvation. With new managers at the helm of both these legendary clubs,  it's time for both the teams to get back to their drawing boards and get back to their winning ways.

3. Manchester United Vs Manchester City 7/12/19

Derby days in England have a dagger underneath the cloak.

A decade ago, any sane person would have laughed off and shrugged at the thought of this fixture becoming a heated one. Little did they know that Arab money would work wonders on the other side of Manchester. United were thrashed the last time they met and the time before that and so on.

Tables have turned in favour of the Cityzens and United could only hope to put an end to this embarrassment at the hands of this young club. Odds are in the favour of expectedly on the side of City but derby days in England have a dagger underneath the cloak.

2. Chelsea Vs Tottenham Hotspur 21/12/19

Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur despise each other from the bottom of their hearts. The Blues made a lot of rivals, being in London and having a derby match nearly every month thanks to the generous domestic season.

However, Chelsea have had a special corner of hatred for Tottenham Hotspur which happens to completely mutual. Coming to the match, Tottenham seem to have an edge considering that they aren't under a transfer ban, haven't lost their star player nor Pochettino hasn't left yet. This match would be played on the boos of the crowd rather than their cheers making this fixture stand out from the rest in the list.

Tell me what is a better way to end a year than the good ol' match between the West and North of London and I will wait. Hardly 10 miles away in London, both the teams flew across to Baku for the UEL Final at the end of last season which saw the Gunners swallowing their pride down their throats.

At the moment both the teams have their own loads of problems which they need to tend to. A factor in favour of the Blues would be that they would be experiencing Champions League football this season, raking in more money and having the luxury of comfortable European fixtures unlike their London counterparts. Nevertheless, the match would be anybody's game on that day and it's bound to be a cracker of a match.
