The English side won a close encounter against the Italian counterpart Torino in the first leg of the playoff round in the UEFA Europa League.

Wolves managed to get an all-important away win at Turin in the hope to reach the group stages of UEFA Europa League this season. A crucial 3-2 win and an away goal advantage make the English side favourite to make it to the group stage. Gleison Bremer scored an own goal for Wolves before Diogo Jota and Raul Jimenez scored a goal each. Whereas, Lorenzo De Silvestri and Andrea Belotti scored for Turin based outfit.

However, Wolves tactician Nuno said, “It’s far from being over, it’s a close tie.” He then went on to say, “We have to play next week against a very, very tough and a very good team. We played good, we were organised, we stayed in shape, we produced some goals but, like I say, there’s still one game to go."

This was Wolves seventh game of the season as they had to start their season early on July 25th due to Europa League commitments. Joao Moutinho, the Portuguese international started in every game.

The Portuguese tactician praised him and said, “He respects himself, he rests, he’s a fantastic player and other players play also. Moutinho is just one case among others that play two games in a row and three games in a row, then we have to decide for the next one.”

Wolves made 4 changes from their draw against Manchester United on Monday night with Jesus Vallejo, Adama Traore, Romain Saiss and Ruben Vinagre all coming in. The Wolves gaffer warned his players ahead of the busy and difficult schedule he said, “It’s a very, very busy schedule – we have to manage that and always try and make good decisions so the team stays compact and organised."

"The most important thing is that the players understand that they have to really, really work hard. We have to recover well to be able to cope with such a difficult time and such a difficult schedule.”

Nuno also praised his wingback Adama Traore’s performance and said “I’m pleased. He helped the team, others did what they had to do. It’s about tasks, it’s about rules, it’s about always being a team. Knowing that, when you know yourselves better and the characteristic of the player is what they can give to the team is important.”
