Will Redbull continue to dominate? Or Ferrari and Mercedes to bounce back? A lot of questions to be answered in Jeddah.

With Bahrain GP done and dusted, fans turn their focus towards Saudi Arabian GP in the Formula 1 2023 season. The Red Bull drivers head to the Jeddah Corniche Circuit after dominating the Sakhir Circuit in Bahrain. Round 1 was all about the reigning champion Max Verstappen achieving his 36th win and the two-time Driver’s Championship winner Fernando Alonso finishing P3 and achieving the 99th podium of his career. Sergio Perez finished P2, behind teammate Verstappen.

Ferrari will want to reverse their fortune in Jeddah as their number 1 driver Charles Leclerc had to retire in Bahrain due to engine problems. Consequently, he has been hit with a 10-place grid penalty going into this weekend, after his car was required to change the electronic power unit component. Sainz finished P4 behind Alonso and was the only Ferrari to make it to the end of the race and will have to do most of the heavy lifting this weekend if Ferraris want to score good points.

Mercedes are also in a lot of trouble and will look to jump Aston Martin who were far superior to them in Bahrain. Lewis Hamilton finished P5 ahead of his teammate George Russell who finished P7. Mercedes have a lot to think about and have passed a statement that they are going to change the whole concept of the car.
