7:19 AM To Julian Weber from Germany. His compatriot was second behind Neeraj, with an 85m throw. How far can Weber go? He goes long, very long! 84.41m! Direct qualification for this German as well! What a throw from the athlete. Brilliance at display!
7:17 AM Anderson Peters on the mark, and the Grenada athlete hits 80.42m! Second on the table as of now. Following him is Kenya's Julius Yego. Can he replicate his personal best? Threw well, but was a foul throw at the end. We move on...

6:48 AM Women's Golf Another par from Aditi as she drops to Tied 9th. Just the beginning though; don't read too much into it. A couple of birdies can take her to 2nd or 3rd. Inbee Park has a -3 so far, but with 6 holes. She's leading at the moment.
6:47 AM Shivpal Singh will go sixth in his rounds of qualification in Javelin Throw, just before Pakistan's Nadeem Arshad. The Indian has a personal best of 86.23m, and a season best of 81.63m! Can he make it to the 'throw-high and long' club with Neeraj?
6:42 AM Women's Golf The Kasumigaseki Country Club is currently hosting the first round, and it looks beautiful. With the temperature at just over 30 degrees and a little wind, the day looks good for the golfers.

6:33 AM Women's Golf - Aditi is tied 8th at the moment, while Diksha is yet to take her first shot. Aditi's second score was par as well. Her next hole is 399yards par 4. A birdie would set her in the right zone.

6:24 AM Women's Golf - Aditi Ashok starts her campaign with a par. This will help in calming her nerves. Also participating alongside her is Diksha Dagar.

6:11 AM Kim Amb up next for Sweden. He had hit 82.4 in his first throw. Starts with a grunt... and hits a foul! Pavel Mialeshka will go next. He's from Belarus. He's got 82.64m. Good, long throw from him.
6:09 AM He steps over, was a sub-75m throw. Michael Shuey goes next. Needs a good throw, the USA athlete. But is another foul throw! None of the three for him! He's limping, clearly in discomfort. Shih-Feng on the mark now... 77.16m.
6:07 AM Mihaita Novac with a foul throw, and so does Ihab AbdelRahman. Toth-Rivasz next on the line, with another foul throw. Toni Kuusela takes the mark...
6:05 AM Gatis Cakss is up next, and hits 78.73m. Second round over, and Neeraj continues to sit atop the rankings. What was that from the Indian youngster! I still need time to wrap my head around that throw of 86.65m!
6:04 AM Vitezslav Velesy is next up with his second throw! And it's so close! 83.04m. He moves up to the 4th place.
6:02 AM Vetter hits 82.08m; he's been consistent, but a little shy of qualification. However, he's still one of the leaders on the scorecard. Following his is Edis from Lithuania, who hits 81.24.
6:01 AM Cyprian with a foul throw as he touches the line and Van Rooyen hits 74.40. Next up is Vetter, the World No. 1.
5:59 AM Kim Amb from Sweden throws 79.87m. Pavel Mialeshka from Belarus throws 82.17m. Neeraj is off the track, because he's already into the finals!!!!! Can't keep calm now!
GO NEERAJ, GO!
5:57 AM Michael Shuey's second invalid attempt. He's followed by Shing-Feng, who's hit a foul throw. Shuey is in pain, limping.
5:56 AM Rivasz-Toth with a 77.11m throw. Doesn't better his first throw. Up next is Toni Kuusela, who throws 76.96m.
5:55 AM Mihaita Novac with a 80.90m throw in his second attempt. Ihab AbdelRahman follows him with 81.92m.
5:53 AM Gatis Cakss from Latvia with a foul throw, but we're still not over Neeraj's attempt! What a throw that was! 86.65 isn't meagre! It's the longest in the first throw of qualification. The wildcard is going wild.
5:52 AM Neeraj Chopra all set for his first throw at Tokyo 2020! QUALIFIES! Unbelievable! He's made it to the next round already! 86.65m! The No. 1 ranked thrower at the moment! He's the junior world champion, and he's showing why!
5:51 AM Vitezslav Vesely from Czech Republic is all set! He has a foul throw! Following him is Neeraj Chopra...
5:49 AM Edis from Lithuania comes close to the 80m mark, hits 79.5m. Next up is Finland's Lassi Etelatalo. He's on the run... And he qualifies with a massive, massive throw of 84.5m! It's his season's best, and he's the first qualifier!

5:35 AM We're almost underway! Novac has taken the mark... We can also see Neeraj wearing India's jacket and ensuring his body remains warmed up!
5:33 AM Romania's Mihaita Novac, the World No. 28, will get us underway in the next couple of minutes. Neeraj goes 15th, wearing a bib numbered 2297. Every athlete needs to breach the 83.5m mark to qualify or the top 12 go into the finals.
5:32 AM India's Shivpal Singh, too, will compete in Javelin Throw, but he's in Group B. So there's time before he takes his mark. However, he'll need to perform well beyond his season best of 81.63 to make a mark. He has a career best of 86.23m, clearly showing he has the ability to go long!
5:30 AM If Chopra is fully fit and at the top of his game, there's no one stopping his qualification. Mark my words there. He's got some serious talent; he's very focused on his game and that's what makes him one of the outside bets for a medal or at least the qualification to the finals. *Fingers crossed*
5:28 AM The event starts in the next few minutes, and the athletes are starting to warm up now. Chopra has an individual best of 88.07m. However, he's grouped with World No. 1, Germany's Johannes Vetter, who has a humongous throwing arm and has a personal best of 97.76!
5:25 AM To begin the day, I, Punit Tripathi extend all of you and our Indian contingent the best of wishes. Can we have a cracking start to the day? It begins who I think is a wildcard for India, Neeraj Chopra. He's currently ranked 16th in the world, but only three players have better throws than him.
