On the other hand, 22-year-old Italian Luca Nardi, currently ranked World No. 98, is enjoying a memorable debut at the Cincinnati Open. Nardi advanced to the fourth round after World No. 17 Jakub Mensik was forced to retire in their third-round match with the score at 6-2, 2-1 in the Italian’s favor.

On his way to the Round of 16, Nardi has picked up notable wins over Aidan Mayo 6-3, 6-2, Alexander Blockx 6-4, 6-3, Thiago Agustin Tirante 6-4, 7-6(5) and Denis Shapovalov 6-7(5), 6-3, 6-4.
