Top five tennis players with highest prize money earned on ATP Tour in 2024
Jannik Sinner is the only player to amass over $10 million in 2024.
The curtains have come down on the long-winding ATP tennis season that offered more than a few surprises as the next generation took hold of the narrative. While the race for accolades, trophies and milestones intensified in 2024, the prize money on offer served as part of the allure in tempting tennis professionals of various skill levels to the shores of the host nations.
The 2024 season witnessed the Grand Slams and the ATP Masters continuing to offer substantial payouts to the players. The four majors upped the stakes, offering increased prize money in the 2024 season. The newly established Six Kings Slam exhibition event, too, contributed to the financial standing of the participating players.
Coupled with sponsorships, endorsements, and the prize money on offer, tennis players all through the ATP Tour have benefited from windfalls to make the 2024 season productive in more ways than one.

Tennis players with highest prize money earned in ATP Tour 2024
Jannik Sinner ($16.91 million)
It is no surprise that Jannik Sinner is the tour leader in terms of highest prize money earned. The Italian stood apart from the rest of the field thanks to a breakthrough season. Winning the 2024 Australian Open was the first step taken by Sinner to reach the dizzying heights he has this season. The victory in Melbourne fetched him his first Grand Slam trophy.
Among the eight titles won by Sinner this year, victory at the ATP Finals in Turin contributed heavily to the Italian’s prize money. A sum of $4.88 million flowed into Sinner’s coffers from winning the ATP Finals undefeated. The other major sources of prize money were from claiming the Australian Open ($2.05 million) and the US Open ($3.6 million).
The biggest paycheck picked up by the Italian in 2024 was for winning the Six Kings Slam exhibition event. The $6 million he earned in Riyadh is in addition to his ATP Tour earnings.
Among his other milestones are helping Italy defend the Davis Cup, becoming the year-end No. #1 for the first time and recently reaching 25 consecutive weeks at the top of the ATP rankings.

Carlos Alcaraz ($9.85 million)
Carlos Alcaraz has been Sinner’s closest competitor all season long, and in terms of prize money, too, is second only to Sinner. The Spaniard ended up with $9.85 million from his four ATP tour wins. By finishing with a total prize money just shy of $10 million. In 2023, he returned winnings of $15.1 million and six tour-level titles.
Alcaraz’s prize money haul surged by $5.9 million on winning trophies at Roland Garros ($2.51 million) and Wimbledon ($3.38 million). Victory at the Indian Wells Masters and the China Open handed the World No. #3 another $1.8 million to take home. He also pocketed a sizeable $1.5 million additionally for playing at the Six Kings Slam exhibition event.
The Spaniard’s stand-out milestone was completing the rare Roland Garros-Wimbledon double, also known as the Channel Slam. By winning in Paris and London, the 21-year-old has four Grand Slam titles to his name.
Alexander Zverev ($8.83 million)
Third on the list is World No. #2 Alexander Zverev. Significantly contributing to the tidy sum of $8.83 million was the $1.9 million in prize money for winning the Paris and Rome Masters. Reaching the semifinals at Roland Garros fetched Zverev another $1.25 million.
A substantial $1.52 million check for reaching the last four at the ATP Finals in Turin nudged the German up to half his earnings or $4.65 million in 2024. Semi-final appearances at the Australian Open and the Cincinnati and Miami Masters helped Zverev pocket another $1.6 million.
By winning the ATP 1000s in Paris and Rome, Zverev matched a similar result from the 2021 season when he won the Cincinnati, Madrid. He also made the last four at the year-ending ATP Finals for the fourth time when he went up against Taylor Fritz.

Taylor Fritz ($6.91 million)
Taylor Fritz’s winnings of $2.2 million at the ATP Finals combined with the $1.8 million he earned from the US Open amounts to a hefty $4 million from his year-to-date amount bagged as prize money. Fritz also gained another $1.4 million by winning ATP 250 events at Eastbourne and Delray Beach.
The 2024 saw Taylor Fritz become the top-ranked American and end the year on a high with a career-best ranking of World No. #4. In addition, Fritz also won the Eastbourne title for the third time, becoming the first man to do so. He also retained his Delray Beach crown from 2023.
He emulated Andy Roddick by becoming the first US Open finalist since Andy Roddick in 2003, ending a nearly two-decade wait for an American finalist.
Daniil Medvedev ($5.57 million)
Daniil Medvedev wound up with earnings of $5.57 million despite remaining without a title to his name this year. The Russian had to cope with a rather forgettable 2024 campaign as he was unable to defend any of the five titles he won in the 2023 season. Despite his trademark tenacity remaining intact, Medvedev is facing a widening gap with the current generation of stars, beginning with Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner.
The Russian World No. #4 appeared in the title rounds at the Australian Open and the Indian Wells Masters. The two final appearances contributed $1.68 million to his 2024 earnings. Medvedev made $727,500 at the year-ending ATP Finals despite an exit in the round-robin stage.
Making the last four at Wimbledon ensured another $1.75 million, pushing the final tally from significant events to $4.16 million. A series of semi-final appearances at smaller events contributed the rest.
