Jannik Sinner vs Alexander Zverev prediction, betting tips & odds, head-to-head, preview: Paris Masters 2025

Jannik Sinner defeated Zverev in the Vienna Open final last week.
Alexander Zverev was on the brink of another loss to Daniil Medvedev at the La Defense Arena before saving two match points and advancing to the semi-finals with a 2-6, 6-3, 7-6(5) victory. The two-hour, 30-minute victory halts Zverev’s five-match losing streak to the Russian and is now 8-14 in his ATP head-to-head with Medvedev.
Medvedev’s four double faults did not do him any favours, even as he added to his troubles with 18 unforced errors. The 28-year-old Zverev shrugged off an injury scare to his left hamstring in the opening set to defeat Medvedev for the first time since the 2023 Cincinnati Open.
The moment of victory came for Zverev when Medvedev’s backhand went long in the deciding set tiebreak. Medvedev is no longer in contention for a spot in Turin even as Zverev advances to his 23rd career Masters 1000 semi-final.
Zverev, the World No. 3, will look to keep his title defense hopes alive at the 2025 Paris Masters when he takes Jannik Sinner in the last four and break the 4-4 head-to-head deadlock with the Italian.
Sinner continues to roll past his rivals in Paris, the latest victim being Ben Shelton on Friday. The No. 2 seed completed the formalities with a 6-3, 6-3 win in just 70 minutes to reach his first Paris Masters 1000 semi-final. Following his 51st victory of the season, Sinner became the first Italian semi-finalist at the ATP 1000 event.

The second seed extended his indoor winning streak to 24 after ousting Shelton in the quarter-finals and recorded his best-ever result at the ATP 1000 event. Sinner is chasing his first ATP 1000 title of the season and a potential return to the No. 1 position in the ATP Rankings on Monday.
There was no reprieve for Shelton as Sinner broke the American’s serve twice in each set. Sinner made the most of the American’s five double faults for another flawless victory over the World No. 7 from Atlanta.

Preview
A rematch from their Vienna Open face-off last week will decide who advances to the finals of the 2025 Paris Masters. Sinner is the first Italian man to reach 43 tour-level semi-finals and is yet to drop a set this week.
In doing so, he has erased the memories of his lacklustre performances during his previous visits to the French capital. The 24-year-old is two wins away from his maiden Paris Masters crown and will look to continue his dominance of indoor hard courts, going back to November 2023.
Zverev managed to turn the tables on Medvedev in their quarter-final face-off on Friday after enduring a string of disheartening losses to the Russian. The early exit of Carlos Alcaraz has brightened the German’s chance of retaining the Paris Masters title for another year.
The 28-year-old kept his composure to claw back from a set down against the Russian and make his fourth semi-final at the ATP 1000 event. Unlike last year, when he faced Holger Rune in the last four, Zverev will have to contend with a rampaging Sinner.

Match prediction
When Zverev and Sinner clashed in the finals at Vienna last week, the German pushed hard, taking the match to three sets against a cramping Sinner. The confidence gained from his comeback win over Medvedev could help the German take the fight to the World No. 2 in Paris.
Sinner’s physical condition has been a cause for concern after he withdrew from the Shanghai Open second round, handing Zverev a weakness to exploit.
The downside for Zverev is that he is heading into the match less than 24 hours after his gruelling three-set quarter-final, which took two and a half hours to complete on Friday.
The slower hard-court surface at the new venue could hand Sinner the edge as he heads into the semi-final clash with Zverev, having won both their meetings in 2025.
Result: Jannik Sinner to win in three sets.
