All you need to know about prize money on offer for Next Gen ATP Finals 2024

Arthur Fils, the 2023 finalist, returns for another edition of the Next Gen ATP Finals.
While the Next Gen ATP Finals 2024 may have the tag of an exhibition event, that does not stop the participating players from going all out to win the trophy. The contest is open to the younger players on the tour with entry determined by ranking. The top eight players under the age of 20 are invited to the event.
With the organisers of the Next Gen ATP Finals lowering the threshold from under 21 to under 20, last season’s winner, Hamad Medjedovic, won’t be turning. Medjedovic overcame Arthur Fils last year in five sets. However, the 2023 Finalist, Frenchman Arthur Fils, will be gracing the courts at Jeddah for the second year in a row.
Fils leads the Blue Group as the top seed while Alex Michelson, the second seed, heads the Red Group. Jakub Mensik, Learner Tien and Joao Fonseca complete the Blue Group lineup along with Fils. Meanwhile, Shang Juncheng, Luca Van Aasche and Nishesh Basavareddy feature along with Red Group leader Alex Michelson.
On day one, in Blue Group action, Jakub Mensik opens against Leaner Tien. Later in the day, Fils will eye revenge against debutant Joao Fonseca for his defeat against the Brazilian teenager in the 2024 Rio Open. Fonseca owns a positive head-to-head record against Fils, defeating the Frenchman en route to his first ATP-level quarterfinal in Rio de Janeiro. He is also the youngest and lowest-ranked competitor at the event.
Mensik, one of the tour’s brightest prospects, has four top 10 wins besides claiming the Newcomer of the Year award in 2024. He will take on fellow Jeddah debutant Tien, in the first of their round-robin matches.
The Red Group match between 2023 semi-finalist, Luca Van Assche and Juncheng Shang also promises to be one worth watching. Shang, playing at the event for the first time, won his first ATP-level title in Chengdu this year. Americans Alex Michelsen and Nishesh Basavareddy will round off the action on day one.
