List of players to win their first five Grand Slam finals

Roger Federer holds the top spot with seven consecutive Grand Slam final wins.
Victory at a Grand Slam is a career milestone worth celebrating, for not every player who walks on the tennis courts at the venue gets their hands on the silverware. Winning a single major title is an achievement in itself. There are many stories of men and women across the ATP and WTA tours who had to be content with a single Grand Slam title to their name.
On the other side of the fence are players in possession of immense talent who make winning look easy and almost second nature to the talented individuals. Taking home multiple and uninterrupted Grand Slam wins requires mastery over diverse playing surfaces, which these players display in spades.
Let’s unpack the journey of players with five or more successive wins since taking home their first Grand Slam trophy.
Players to win their first five Grand Slam finals-
Iga Swiatek – 5

Iga Swiatek made history in 2020 by winning her first Grand Slam title, the French Open, at just 19 years old. She defeated American Sofia Kenin for her first Slam without dropping a set.
Swiatek became the first Polish player, man or woman, to win a singles major in tennis history when she lifted the 2020 French Open trophy. Following a quarter-final exit in Paris in 2021, she bounced back and won a rare Roland Garros three-peat between 2022 and 2024.
The Pole defeated Coco Gauff in 2022, Karolina Muchova in 2023, and finally, Jasmine Paolini in 2024 in the finals to make it three in a row.
Swiatek also claimed the US Open title in 2022 by defeating Italy’s Ons Jabeur in the final. It was her French Open title run in 2024 that gave the Pole a 5-0 record in major finals and a place on this list.

Carlos Alcaraz – 5

Like Iga, Carlos Alcaraz won his first Grand Slam title as a teenager. At the age of 19, he defeated Casper Ruud in five sets at the 2022 edition of the US Open. Following his triumph at Flushing Meadows, Alcaraz became the youngest World No. 1 in ATP history.
The Spaniard won Wimbledon 2023 (defeating Djokovic) and the 2024 French Open (defeating Alexander Zverev) to win his third major title. His win over Zverev made him the youngest man at 21 to record wins on all three surfaces – grass, hard, and clay.
Later in the year, Alcaraz replicated his win over Novak Djokovic at Wimbledon 2024 to become the youngest player to lift four Slam trophies.
Success at the 2025 French Open was Grand Slam title No. 5, placing him in the exclusive company of Roger Federer as only the second man in ATP history to win his first five major finals.
The Spaniard survived an epic five-setter against Jannik Sinner to earn his fifth Grand Slam title and maintain his perfect record at major finals. It almost wasn’t as the Spaniard flirted with danger as his opponent had three match points at his disposal, but failed to convert any of them.
Monica Seles – 6
Monica Seles made history in 1990 by becoming the youngest woman at 16 years and six months to claim the French Open singles title. Seles defeated Steffi Graf at Roland Garros in 1990 to take her first step on the path to a record-breaking run at Grand Slams.
Seles won two Australian Open titles (1991-92), three at the French Open (1990-92), and the 1991 US Open by the time Steffi Graf ended her uninterrupted victory march at majors in the 1991 Wimbledon edition.
In the two years between the 1991 Australian Open and the 1993 Australian Open, Seles played nine Grand Slams, winning seven of them. She was 55-1 at majors during that time. In March 1991, Seles became the youngest WTA No. 1 at age 17, a record unsurpassed until Martina Hingis came along.
Hingis attained the top ranking in March 1997 at 16. Seles will be remembered as one of the greatest “what if” stories of tennis as much as her match-winning abilities. She was never the same after the infamous stabbing incident during her 1991 Hamburg Open match against Steffi Graf.

Roger Federer – 7

Roger Federer claimed his first Grand Slam win at an event he would go on to dominate – Wimbledon. Federer has won eight titles at SW19 since 2003, the year he won Wimbledon for the first time by defeating Mark Philippoussis and just two years after his first ATP-level title in Milan.
The Swiss maestro dominated the sport, winning seven straight finals between 2003 and 2006. The haul included the Australian Open (2004, 2006), Wimbledon (2003-2005), and the US Open (2004-05). Federer defeated Andy Roddick twice at Wimbledon (2004, 2005) and Andre Agassi on his home turf in New York in 2005.
Marat Safin at the 2004 Australian Open, Marcos Baghdatis at the 2006 Australian Open, and Lleyton Hewitt in the 2004 US Open complete the list of Federer’s conquests on his journey to his first seven Grand Slam titles.
