Indian Wells Open 2025: All you need to know about prize money and points on offer

The total prize pool for the Indian Wells Open 2025 is $19,387,080.
The Indian Wells Open 2025 starts from March 2, with the main draws for the women’s and men’s singles starting on March 7 and 8, respectively. The ATP and WTA-1000 event will feature global stars from around the world, with huge prize money and many valuable points on offer.
Wales make a major change from slow surfaces to medium-fast courts for the 51st edition, informally called the fifth Grand Slam. With the sole exception of Jannik Sinner, who is serving a three-month ban, the rest of the top seeds across the ATP and WTA circuits will go head-to-head.

Despite not being the top seeds, the spotlight will certainly be on the defending champions Carlos Alcaraz and Iga Swiatek. Both are two-time champions but have had mixed results in the new season so far. The Spaniard won the ATP Rotterdam Challenge but faced disappointments in Australia and Qatar.
Swiatek, who was a three-time Qatar Open champion, lost to familiar rival Jelena Ostapenko for a record fifth time. Her Australian Open campaign seemed to be flawless, to such an extent that she even had a match point during her semi-final battle with Madison Keys, which eventually ended in a defeat.

Aryna Sabalenka, who is the World Number One, has witnessed a steep decline in form since the Australian Open final. Back-to-back early exits in Qatar and Dubai have left the Belarusian struggling for form. However, she would hope to make use of the new conditions, which are similar to those at the US Open, where Sabalenka lifted her third Grand Slam trophy.
24-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic will also participate, despite clouds of uncertainty hovering over the Serbian. The 37-year-old continues to pursue the 100th career title, and the BNP Paribas Open is an ideal place to do so. Triumphing in California will make Djokovic the most successful player at the desert (currently tied with Roger Federer at five).
Coco Gauff started the season with an electrifying win at the United Cup but has fallen away since. Elena Rybakina, who showed signs of promise and is a 2023 champion at the desert, will be eyeing her first title since April 2024.

Alexander Zverev, the top seed at the event, has suffered three consecutive early exits, while Taylor Fritz and Daniil Medvedev have had poor starts to the 2025 calendar year. Andrey Rublev and Stefanos Tsitsipas, having emerged victorious at the recently concluded Qatar and Dubai Open, respectively, could spring a surprise.
The tournament offers a massive prize money of $19,387,080, set to be divided equally among men’s and women’s players. The winner receives a 9.19% increase in pay compared to the amount Carlos Alcaraz and Iga Swiatek received twelve months ago.
