Top five records set by Jannik Sinner at Wimbledon 2025

Jannik Sinner lifted his maiden Wimbledon trophy, his fourth Grand Slam title.

Jannik Sinner’s historic triumph at Wimbledon 2025 will go down as one of the most defining moments in modern tennis.

Coming off a heartbreaking loss at Roland Garros, the World No. 1 showcased exceptional mentality and skill to outlast two-time defending champion Carlos Alcaraz, thereby ending the Spaniard’s 5-0 streak in Grand Slam finals.

Beyond the trophy, Sinner’s run in London saw him spectacularly rewrite the record books. From dethroning reigning champion Carlos Alcaraz to setting new benchmarks, let’s take a look at some of the records he shattered.

Records Jannik Sinner broke at Wimbledon 2025-

Second-youngest man to reach the singles final at all four Grand Slam events

Jannik Sinner became the second youngest man to make Grand Slam final appearances at all four major events, after he reached his maiden Wimbledon final by defeating Novak Djokovic in straight sets. The World No. 1 already has two Australian Open titles in the bag, along with a US Open triumph in 2024.

He reached his maiden Roland Garros final in 2025, and had two championship points on Alcaraz’s serve, but was unable to capitalise on an early advantage of 2 sets to none, eventually going down in five sets. However, he redeemed himself on centre court, ending the Spaniard’s grass-court reign stunningly.

Jannik Sinner’s victory was a big moment for his country, as Italy won its maiden Wimbledon title in singles. No Italian, male or female, has ever lifted the Wimbledon trophy, with Matteo Berrettini being the first to reach the final in 2021, but then beaten by Novak Djokovic.

Jasmine Paolini became the first Italian woman to reach the final in 2024, losing to Barbora Krejcikova. Sinner is also the first ever from his motherland to claim Grand Slam titles on multiple surfaces, having previously won three majors on hard courts (at Australian and US).

Second-highest wins in the first 100 Grand Slam matches

Sinner is one of the most consistent performers on tour currently, and more often than not makes deep runs in every competition he plays. The World No. 1 surpassed Roger Federer to register the second highest number of wins in 100 Grand Slam matches, with his tally of 81 only short of Rafael Nadal, who tops this list with 86.

Only the second man to boast a five-match winning streak against Novak Djokovic

Jannik Sinner’s semifinal win at Wimbledon 2025 marked his fifth straight victory over Serbian tennis star Djokovic, denying fans the sight of Djokovic’s traditional grass-eating celebration. The top seed’s streak began at the 2023 Davis Cup, where Sinner saved three match points to stun Djokovic in Spain.

He followed up by defeating Djokovic in the 2024 Australian Open semifinals, ending the Serb’s 33-match Melbourne streak, and then won their Shanghai Masters final clash. Sinner has now registered consecutive semi-final Grand Slam victories over the Serbian, who doesn’t have the answers against a younger version of himself.

Only Rafael Nadal had previously managed to string together such a winning streak against Novak Djokovic, though even then, the Serbian ultimately took the lead in their legendary head-to-head rivalry.

Youngest man ever to reach four consecutive singles finals

Jannik Sinner, at just 23 years and 318 days, has become the youngest ever in the Open Era to reach four consecutive Grand Slam finals in men’s singles — a truly remarkable achievement.

He surpasses legends like Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, and Andre Agassi, highlighting his rapid rise and consistent brilliance on tennis’s biggest events.
