A handful of players have won multiple men’s singles titles at US Open so far.

The US Open has been the final grand slam of the tennis tour for quite some time now. The players hope to end the season with a memorable performance at Flushing Meadows. The top players over the past have successfully clinched notable wins in the event.

Few players have completed milestones at the US Open. The courts have witnessed records, intense rivalries and sportsmanship between the players. The event is also known for bringing in technogical advancements each year and keeps making changes in every edition of the tournament.

6. Novak Djokovic (4 titles)

Novak Djokovic made history at the 2023 US Open by winning his 24th grand slam title. He has won titles at Flushing Meadows in 2011, 2015, 2018 and 2023. Djokovic’s iconic matchpoints save against Roger Federer in 2010 and 2011 semifinals of the US Open have been regarded as one of the greatest comebacks in the sport.

5. Rafael Nadal (4 titles)

Rafael Nadal has a special connection with the US Open. It is the only grand slam otheer than the French Open where has won more than two titles. Nadal tasted victory for the first time at the US Open in 2010 at the age of 24 as he completed the career golden slam. He defeated Djokovic in the final and went on to win three more titles at the final major of the year.

4. John McEnroe (4 titles)

American tennis legend John McEnroe was an artistic player who was known for his volleys and unique shot selection. The legend played some of his best tennis on the hard court, and four US Open titles are proof of that. He conquered the court three times consecutively from 1979 to 1981. The fourth title came in 1984, when he beat Ivan Lendl.

After this victory, he set a record for the greatest winning season in terms of percentage since the commencement of the Open era. A win-loss record of 82-3 was a crazy achievement by this legendary American player. He won 96.47% of his matches.

3. Roger Federer (5 titles)

Millions call him the greatest, while billions compare him with other tennis players. If not the greatest, the Swiss maestro is surely the reason for many players who took up the game. Roger Federer is an absolute legend of the sport, with 5 US Open titles to his name till date. He won the title five consecutive times from 2004 to 2008. No one could match the skills that Federer had during that time.

The former World No. 1, known for his one-handed backhand, is still active but is currently out of tournaments due to knee problems.He is in recovery mode and could make a comeback at any time. Fans would be eager to witness Roger for the last time before announcing retirement. If he wins any tournament, that would have surely been an icing on the cake.

2. Pete Sampras (5 titles)

When Roger Federer was not there, Pete Sampras was the one who made the sport magical because of his remarkable skills. Sampras won the US Open title five times, with the first one coming in 1990 when he was just 19. That just set the tone for his future, as he was unstoppable after this feat. He went on to win four more titles, and the last one came in 2002 against his arch-nemesis, Andre Agassi.

James Scott Connors, commonly known as Jimmy Connors, was one of America’s greatest tennis stars. He became victorious at the US Open five times, including 1974, 1976, 1978, 1982, and 1983, making him one of the only three players who achieved this feat.

During his glittering 24-year career, he won eight Grand Slams and held the incredible record of appearing in the top ten rankings for 16 years. Connors was the only player to win the US Open title on three different turfs – clay, grass, and hard court.
