Seven-time Grand Slam champion Carlos Alcaraz is unarguably one of the best young players the sport has ever seen. Earlier this year, after winning the Australian Open, he became the youngest player to complete a career Grand Slam. Earlier, the record was held by another Spaniard, Rafael Nadal.
Nevertheless, apart from tennis, the 22-year-old also enjoys watching Formula 1. In February, he went to the Bahrain International Circuit paddock during pre-season testing. During his appearance, he also stopped by the garages of McLaren and Ferrari.

Which F1 racer does Carlos Alcaraz support?
Alcaraz has admitted that Spanish racer Fernando Alonso has made him a Formula 1 fan. The seven-time Grand Slam champion also claimed that whenever Alonso is a part of a race, Alcaraz always supports him.
The Spanish tennis star said in 2023, “I have to admit that I’ve never been particularly interested in it. But Fernando has made me into a Formula 1 fan. He’s made me watch races, made me support him.”
After defeating Alexander Zverev in the semi-finals of the 2026 Australian Open, he recreated Fernando Alonso’s ‘samurai’ celebration from 2006. Alonso jumped onto his car, raised a leg, and bowed with his arms pointed outwards after winning the 2006 Formula 1 World Championship with Renault by winning the Japanese Grand Prix at Suzuka.
The 44-year-old recorded the victory after inheriting the lead from Michael Schumacher. Coincidentally, Schumacher and Zverev are both German athletes, too.
Alcaraz also once said that Alonso could be his ideal doubles partner. He said, “Definitely Fernando Alonso. He knows how to play tennis, and I think he would be a great team-mate. I admire F1 drivers in the world of F1 because it is a team thing.
“They have to do what the team tells them, and I admire that. In tennis, you have to deal with everything by yourself. So you have to put your maximum strength into that.”
Meanwhile, the two-time F1 World Champion also congratulated Alcaraz for winning the 2026 Australian Open and completing the career Grand Slam.
