Rafael Nadal has been named on the first entry list for Wimbledon 2024.

The first entry list for the upcoming Wimbledon 2024 Championships has been released for the men’s and women’s singles categories.

The men’s singles entry list is headlined by ATP World No. #1 Novak Djokovic, followed by 2024 Australian Open champion Jannik Sinner and two-time Grand Slam winner Carlos Alcaraz. Interestingly, Rafael Nadal has also been included in the first entry list, with him using the protected ranking (PR) to get into the main draw.

Apart from Rafael Nadal, the likes of Pablo Carreno Busta, Denis Shapovalov, Kei Nishikori, Soonwoo Kwon, and Dominic Stricker will also be using protected rankings. Japan’s Kei Nishikori will also be making a return after a prolonged hiatus due to a hip injury.

The former ATP World No. #4 has barely played any matches in the last two years. At the 2024 Maimi Open, he was given a wildcard by the organisers; however, he lost the first match against Sebastian Ofner. Additionally, India’s Sumit Nagal will also be in action in England, as he has been named in the first entry list for the Wimbledon 2024 Championships.

Meanwhile, WTA World No. #1 Iga Swiatek is leading the ladies’ singles entry list. Two-time Australian Open Champion Aryna Sabalenka has been ranked second ahead of USA’s Coco Gauff and Kazakhstan’s Elena Rybakina.

Iga Swiatek’s best performance in the grass-court major came during the last edition, where she reached the quarterfinals. The defending champion, Marketa Vondrousova, is ranked seventh in the first entry list. However, as a few players withdrew from the tournament, the lists and names would change with time.
