Welcome to the live blog for the Bengaluru Torpedoes vs Kochi Blue Spikers match in Prime Volleyball League (PVL) 2023 Hyderabad leg.

It has not been the best of the starts for Kochi Blue Spikers, who face Bengaluru Torpedoes next in Prime Volleyball League 2023. Having played three games so far, Kochi Blue Spikers are yet to get a win under their column, having lost consecutive games against Chennai Blitz, Kolkata Thunderbolts, and Hyderabad Black Hawks.

When Kochi Blue Spikers take on Bengaluru Torpedoes on Friday at the Gachibowli Indoor Stadium in Hyderabad, they will be looking to get their first win.

Lost matches to silly errors: Kochi captain Vipul Kumar

“We have lost the last few matches because of silly errors. Our aim is to set a rhythm in place so that we do not repeat those mistakes again. We want to get a win tomorrow to begin our momentum,” Kochi skipper Vipul Kumar said.

On being asked how important it is for Torpedoes to get the two wins in the city, Torpedoes Universal Ibin Jose said, “We have returned to winning ways and we need to continue in the same vein of form. It will all come down to which team performs better on the court.”

Vipul also gave a glimpse of his team’s strategies going into the match. “We want to win the first set anyhow against Bengaluru as that increases the morale of the team and increases the confidence for the entire match,” he said.

No problem with back-to-back matches

Bengaluru Torpedoes, after the win against Chennai Blitz on Thursday, will come straight into the match against Kochi Blue Spikers.

“We have worked hard on our fitness and we have trained as per our opposition. We are always excited to play in front of fans in Hyderabad, so I do not see it as much trouble for us to have to play back-to-back games. Ready for the contest,” Jose said.

On the other hand, Vipul also insisted his side has also been playing consecutive games but has saved up the energy to ensure they perform to the best of their abilities against Bengaluru.

“We have not got much time to put in more hard work due to recurring matches but we have saved our energy for the game tomorrow. We will go all out for it,” Vipul said.
