After a dramatic end to the Friday Night SmackDown of last week, WWE continued to build up the internal tensions inside the Bloodline as Paul Heyman teased the segment on this week’s Raw. Apart from this WWE has scheduled the Money in the Bank Qualifying matches for this week's SmackDown. The June 9th, 2023 episode of SmackDown is aired live from Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines, IOWA, United States.

Match Cards and Predictions

Butch vs Baron Corbin: Money in the Bank Qualifying Match

Baron Corbin has been a free agent in WWE and has made his return to the NXT the past week by attacking the NXT Champion Carmello Hayes. He showed his clear intention of winning the NXT Championship. On the other hand, Butch has been in the tag team division for a longer time since his main roster debut.

He had proved his abilities during his NXT tenure as an individual wrestler, thereby it will be a great opportunity for him to showcase his talent as a singles wrestler. As per rumors and speculations, Butch could possibly win the match by a clear fall. As Corbin being active on the NXT brand and participating on the MITB could shrink the opportunities of other wrestlers in the main roster.

Santos Escobar vs Mustafa Ali: Money in the Bank Qualifying Match

The LWO’s Santos Escobar is said to fight another star who made his return to the NXT brand Mustafa Ali. Mustafa Ali failed to conquer the Intercontinental Championship at Night of Champions in Saudi Arabia and was moved to the NXT the past week. Where he developed a storyline with Joe Gacy and won the fight this week. It seems like he would have a long run in NXT and it makes no sense for him to qualify for the Money in the Bank ladder match.

On the other hand, Santos Escobar since his debut was stuck on the mid card and was on the losing side for a while. This win could boost both his career and for the rest of LWO, thereby Escobar qualifying for the MITB match could make perfect sense.

Bayley vs Michin: Money in the Bank Qualifying Match

Since her return at SummerSlam 2022, Bayley had multiple pursuits to win the gold but ended in a losing effort. However, winning the Money in the Bank could help her re-position herself to the championship position again. On the other hand, Michin has rarely succeeded in her main roster career with majority of loss records. This opportunity could help her step out from the losing side and move towards the winning side.

As per speculations, Bayley is said to win the Money in the Bank Qualifying match between them and become one of the favorites to win the Money in the Bank contract this year. As she had already won it in the past, this could be an advantage to her for using her experience into play.

IYO Sky vs Shotzi Blackheart: Money in the Bank Qualifying Match

Apart from Bayley, another Damage CTRL member IYO Sky is in the qualifying match, who is said to compete against Shotzi Blackheart. IYO Sky is one of the upcoming talents in WWE who could possibly be the face of the women’s division in near future. IYO previously competed for the Raw Women’s Championship against Bianca Balair but came out short. This could be a perfect chance for IYO to fulfill her championship dream. On the other side, Shotzi Blackheart lost her opportunity to win the tag team gold's in the Fatal Four Way Tag Team match with Raquel Rodriquez.

IYO Sky is likely to win the match and qualify for the Women's Money in the Bank Ladder Match. This could help her chase her championship goals and begin the crack with Bayley.

Jey Usos stand on The Bloodline

After a shocking betrayal of Jimmy Uso by Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa, Jey Uso is about to take his side on The Bloodline. The segment was teased by Paul Heyman on Raw, that they are looking forward to Jey's decision to join hands with Roman and Solo or with his twin Jimmy. The Segment could turn into a brawl and it could mark a biggest turning point in the history of the Bloodline storyline.
