WWE NXT Heatwave (August 22, 2023): Matches, news, rumors, predicted matches, timings, telecast details

The 2023 WWE NXT Heatwave is the upcoming special weekly episode of the black and gold brand. The event will be hosted live on August 22, 2023 from the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida. The event features some of the exciting matches from the top wrestlers of the brand and from the main roster talents. So here is a complete preview, predictions, and telecast details of the NXT Heatwave 2023.

Undisputed NXT Heritage Cup Championship- Nathan Frazer (C) vs Noam Dar

Nathan Frazer defeated Oro Mensah (who replaced Naom Dar) to win the NXT Heritage Cup. Dar could not digest that he is no longer the champ and went into a depressed state. However Las Legent and Jakara Jackson gave Dar an “Undisputed NXT Heritage Championship” to boost him up. Which he defended against Tyler Bate and lost. Since Nathan Frazer was the original champ, Bate returned the championship to Dar. On NXT Heatwave, Natan Fazer is said to go one on one against Naom Dar to determine who is the real Undisputed NXT Heritage Cup Champion. 

As per speculations, Naom Dar is said to win the championship back with the help of Meta-Four and claim himself as the Undisputed NXT Heritage Champion.

Ivy Nile vs Ava

The Dyad of Schism defeated Creed Brothers of Diamond Mine with a stipulation that the loser should leave NXT. Since the Creed Brothers left, the masked members of Schism started costing their own matches. Joe Gacy and Ava suspected that the masked members could be Creed Brothers by unmasking them and later denied it. They went on a search for the Creed brothers and found Ivy Nile (who is a member of Diamond Mine). The Schism members surrounded the ring, cost Ivy her match and went on to investigate her. It eventually turned into a match between Ava and Ivy.

As per speculations, Ivy Nile is said to win the match as Creed Brothers are expected to return and assist her by taking down the other Schism members out from the ringside.

Von Wagner vs Baron Corbin

Baron Corbin claimed that he is creating a new era of himself in the NXT, however he was interrupted by Won Wagner and Mr. Stone, which turned out into a brawl. Wagner then challenged Baron Corbin for a match at Heatwave. 

As per speculations, Baron Corbin could win the match and might involve the interference of Bron Breakker, who Wagner threw over the announce desk weeks before.

Dominik Mysterio & Dragon Lee vs Lyra Valkyria & Dragon Lee

Rhea Ripley and Valkyra had a match weeks ago, where Rhea won the match. The following week Dominik successfully defended his North American Championship against Dragon Lee (who was accompanied by Rey Mysterio). Before the match, Valkyria encountered Rhea and said that Dom is a champion because of her and asked her to let him battle on his own, which Rhea refused. After the match, Dom and Rhea tried to insult Rey, but Lee and Valkyria attacked Rhea and Dom which led to a match at Heatwave.

As per speculations, Rhea and Dom are likely to defeat Dragon Lee and Valkyria.

Ilja Dragunov vs Trick Williams

Ilja Dragunav, Carmelo Hayes and Trick Williams fought as a team weeks ago in a six man tag team match, where Dragunov accidentally hit Williams. The following week, he walked out of the team and said that he is unfinished with Trick Wiliams. Williams challenged Dragunov for a match at Heatwave to prove who’s the dominant one.

As per speculations, Ilja Dragunav is likely to win the match by defeating Trick Williams clean.

NXT Championship- Carmelo Hayes (C) vs Wes Lee

Carmelo Hayes and Wes Lee formed a tag team and had a match, where Lee accidentally hit Hayes with a Cardiac kick, which cost their match. They argued in the middle of the ring and challenged for a match, however Dijak confronted Hayes the following week. Where Lee and Dijak fought for the #1 Contender’s match, where Wes Lee won the match and became the rightful opponent for the NXT Championship.

As per speculations, Carmelo Hayes could defeat Wes Lee and retain the NXT Championship.

WWE NXT Heatwave 2023 is scheduled to air live in India on every Wednesday Morning at 5.30 AM. You can watch the live action on TV broadcasted on Sony Ten 1 and Sony Ten 1 HD channels.
