The promotion could close out 2025 on a high note.
In 2025, WWE fans not only saw John Cena’s retirement tour, but two new PLEs in Wrestlepalooza and Clash in Paris, as well as the Netflix era for Monday Night Raw and the ESPN era for WWE Premium Live Events (PLEs).
With the Holiday Season, the promotion is taping multiple shows in advance to give some time off to talents ahead of the Holiday Tour and the hectic first month of 2026. As the year comes to an end, the promotion has the option to deliver some game-changing twists that could close 2025 on a high note.
5. Judgment Day kicks out Liv Morgan

The underlying tensions between Liv Morgan and Finn Balor have been evident since before her hiatus, and with the addition of Roxanne Perez, this dynamic has become more complex. Since her return, Liv has tried to take back control of Judgment Day and solidify its dominance; however, she has run into a hurdle recently as Raquel Rodriguez expressed her desire to capture the Women’s World title.
Although Rodriguez failed to capture the title, all thanks to an interference by Nikki Bella, she was quick to push back on Liv, trying to control her every move. The stalemate rift in the faction can be picked up with the members kicking out Morgan, leading to her single babyface run, battling Perez. Dominik Mysterio can also play a huge part in the storyline, which will surely keep the fans engaged.

4. Nikki Bella captures the `World title

Speaking of Nikki Bella, the Hall of Famer was taken out by Raquel Rodriguez on the December 8 show, while trying to ask for a rematch against Women’s World Champion Stephanie Vaquer. Bella returned the favor during their title match on the December 15 show and now can make her case for the rematch again.
With Vaquer’s title reign getting a bit lukewarm, WWE can change things up and put the title on Bella, who has been far better as a heel and has stated that this will be her last run. The setback will also provide much-needed character work for Vaquer, who can regain the title if the reports of her defending it at WrestleMania are true.
3. Tiffany Stratton returns to challenge Jade Cargill

Tiffany Stratton has been off WWE programming since losing the Women’s Title to Jade Cargill on November’s Saturday Night’s Main Event. Meanwhile, Cargill’s title reign has struggled, as a thin SmackDown roster has limited compelling storyline opportunities.
Stratton’s starpower was one of the reason of her title reign being far better when compared to Cargill’s, and she could be the perfect opponent for Jade. Stratton making her return to challenge Jade will definitely have the fans buzzing with excitement.
2. Joe Hendry wins the US title

One of the hottest stars from the developmental brand NXT is undoubtedly Joe Hendry, who even made an appearance during the recent Saturday Night’s Main Event featuring John Cena’s final match. Fans have long been demanding main-roster call-ups for NXT talents, and Hendry being promoted to the Blue brand would be a great addition to the locker room.
WWE can also decide to put the United States title on Hendry, while Ilja Dragunov has been putting on amazing matches in the US title open challenge. A potential title run upon his main roster promotion would give a massive push to the potential future WrestleMania main eventer.

1. Randy Orton turns on Cody Rhodes

‘The Viper’ Randy Orton has been absent from WWE programming since October and has made sporadic appearances in 2025. His absence during John Cena’s retirement match also irked fans. Orton was advertised for the SmackDown after Survivor Series, but didnot made his return.
WWE has also been teasing his heel turn and him eyeing the Undisputed title, but fans have been fed up with the teases of him turning on his friend, the Undisputed Champion Cody Rhodes. The promotion can finally pull the trigger and turn Orton.
This would also help if they have no real plans to put the title on Drew McIntyre and are booking another match between Cody and Drew, just because there are no real contenders on SmackDown. The return of the ‘Vintage Orton’ can be one of the most viral moments of the year.
