John Cena & Brock Lesnar’s status for WWE Crown Jewel revealed
WWE Crown Jewel 2023 is the upcoming premium live event after Fastlane. This is the fifth edition of Crown Jewel and is expected to be a major event. As Saudi Arabia events always featured big names, this year’s event also carries the anticipation of bigger names. At this stage a backstage report confirms the status of two veterans in Crown Jewel.
John Cena at Crown Jewel
As per the reports from Ringside News, they had a discussion with a tenured member of WWE creative team, who confirmed that John Cena is booked for the Crown Jewel premium live event in Saudi Arabia. He also said that Cena will not be facing Roman Reigns, but will be on the cards, wrestling in a match.
This could be the first appearance of Cena in Saudi Arabia, as the GOAT has never stepped foot in Saudi Arabia before. Since it is beyond Cena’s released schedule it is expected to be Cena’s last appearance in 2023. Cena previously spoke about leaving WWE for Hollywood after the SAG-AFTRA strike ends. He might continue his existing projects and return anytime soon on the road to WrestleMania.
Brock Lesnar at Crown Jewel
According to a Ringside News report, they reached out to confirm that “The Beast Incarnate” Brock Lesnar is not booked for the Crown Jewel. Lesnar fought in Saudi Arabia at Night of Champions earlier this year against Cody Rhodes and won by referee stoppage. The reports also stated that Lesnar’s vacation continues for a few more months.
Since there are no premium live events in the month of December, Lesnar could only be available on the Road to WrestleMania. Although there is Survivor Series later in November, Lesnar’s appearance is still a doubt.
However, based on the previous reports, Lesnar is done with 2023 and could only appear in 2024. Based on his current contract he has only two matches left, which is expected to be at Royal Rumble and WrestleMania 40.
