Randy Orton’s WWE return has been in the minds of every WWE fan since he was written off from television in May 2022. He underwent back fusion surgery in November 2022 and his father Bob Orton reported earlier this year that Randy is recovering well and he was advised not to step inside the wrestling ring once again.

On the road to SummerSlam, it was reported that Orton was not cleared from his medical conditions as he hasn’t started his in-ring training yet. In September 2023, it was confirmed that Orton started training at the performance center and video of Orton’s arrival was leaked. At this stage a botch from WWE significantly hints at Orton’s return to WWE.

WWE Botched Orton’s return

As WWE is getting near to Survivor Series WarGames PLE, there were various rumors of Randy Orton’s return, where WWE itself has hinted one. WWE on its official Instagram handle posted a video from Survivor Series 2011, where Orton delivered an RKO to Hunico, with the caption, “You just never know when an RKO is going to pop up #SurvivorSeries”.

After few moments of posting the video, WWE changed the caption to “Gets us every time #SurvivorSeries”. However it was spotted by WWE fans and they speculate that WWE might have accidentally leaked Orton’s return.

This week’s Raw will be held in Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids, Michigan, where Orton wrestled his last match in May 2022 before going for a long hiatus. His return seems nearly confirmed and would likely continue from where he left.

Cody Rhodes drop hints

After Drew McIntyre cost the championship rematch of Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso, McIntyre joined an alliance with Judgment Day. As Raw ran out of television time, Cody Rhodes dropped a major spoiler of bringing his friend to counter McIntyre. After which, WWE Universe in Washington D.C started chanting Randy Orton’s name.

Following which, Cody Rhodes posted a picture of their WarGames team who were in the Marvel characters, Cody Rhodes was in the middle as Captain America, Seth Rollins as Loki, Sami Zayn as Doctor Strange and Jey Uso as Black Panther. Cody added a quote, “Seems like we need one more” mentioning WWE, teasing of filling a vacant spot on his team.

Based on the hints, Randy Orton might return to Raw this week and join forces with Cody Rhodes, Seth Rollins, Jey Uso and Sami Zayn and take on Judgment Day at Men’s WarGames Match.
