Cody Rhodes is one of the top-babyface in the active WWE roster. Cody started his pro-wrestling career in WWE’s developmental territory Ohio Valley Wrestling in 2006 and made his WWE main roster debut in 2007. He had a ten-year long first-run with the company, where he was a mid-carder with a couple of Intercontinental Championship reign and six tag team championship reign.

Cody after a long-run got released from WWE in 2016. He transformed his career into an undeniable top star in the independent circuits and with WWE’s rival company AEW until 2022.

Cody Rhodes then made his return to WWE in April 2022 and is now one of the top stars in the company with an incredible run, feuding with some of the big stars and with a pursuit to finish his story. As it has been two years since his return, Cody has now opened up on his contract status, confirming that he will be in the company for a longer time than expected.

Cody Rhodes WWE contract status

Cody Rhodes recently appeared for an interview with Justin Walker, where Cody confirmed that he has signed a multiple-year contract with WWE ahead of WrestleMania, which extends beyond his 40. Cody says that he had planned to retire by 40, but he has changed his plans.

Cody Rhodes said,

“I can tell you 40 is out of the question just because, not to give you scoop, it was widely reported, but I did sign a new contract with WWE. It extends beyond my 40th birthday.”

“The plan is still, when it’s time to step out, to step out without it being a painful process. Solely because I saw my dad [Dusty Rhodes] as an old man wrestler and he loved it and enjoyed it, but as his son it was hard to see.”

“My daughter is two going on three, there does have to be a time, just like he was with us, where I have to be home all the time and be there with her. It’s not 40 anymore. I’ll update the number. I hit the prime run late in the game. I often forget that I’m nearing 40.”

The American Nightmare is currently 38-years old, which seems he is guaranteed to be in WWE for more than two-years with the company according to his new contract.
