Despite being a politician and a businessman, Trump has a long history with WWE. He hosted WrestleMania 4 & 5, involved in a number of moments with the company. Here we take a look at the top five greatest WWE moments of Donald Trump.
5. Money showers
On January 29, 2007, Vince McMahon hosted the fan appreciation night for making him a billionaire. McMahon had the appreciation segment in the middle of the ring, thanking WWE fans and then calling out a lucky fan to present something that he will never forget. He invited a fan to the ring and presented a Muscle and Fitness magazine, where McMahon was featured in the cover picture.
As the fans got upset, Donald Trump appeared on the titration and said that the audience didn’t appreciate him and the magazine is not the one fans wanted. Trump then dropped thousands of US Dollars on the audience. The fans went on to appreciate Donald Trump, instead of Vince McMahon. This made McMahon upset, who ranted at the fans and Trump, before walking backstage.
4. Donald Trump meets Boogeyman
At WrestleMania 23, Donald Trump was seated backstage with Tara Conner (former Miss USA), being on the phone and yelling at Vince McMahon for not providing him with any food or water. Boogeyman appeared behind the couch, eating worms. As Tara Conner ran away, Trump sat calm and asked Boogeyman to bring him some food. Trump then yelled on the phone complaining about the place, being a mess. This was one of the coolest moments of Trump in WWE.
3. WrestleMania 23 contract signing
Vince McMahon and Donald Trump on the road to WrestleMania 23, began a feud picking their sides for the Battle of the Billionaires. To make the match official, they gathered for a contract signing in the middle of the ring.
McMahon came out first and announced that they would laugh at Donald Trump after WrestleMania 23, as he lays stipulation saying that the losing billionaire needs to shave his head. McMahon chose Umaga as his representative and said that no one would step up against Umaga.
However, Donald Trump came to the ring and introduced the ECW Champion, Bobby Lashley as his representative. As both signed the deal, the special guest referee Stone Cold Steve Austin came to the ring and warned both Trump and McMahon, that one among them would walk out of WrestleMania bald.
2. Buys WWE Raw
On the June 15, 2009 episode of Monday Night Raw, Vince McMahon sold his flagship show, Monday Night Raw to Donald Trump as a part of the storyline. Trump after buying Raw promised the WWE fans that he would do something that had never done before.
Trump promised that Raw would run commercial free and returned the ticket fee to the fans. Although it was a storyline, this became big news at the time. This affected the WWE stock badly and forced McMahon to re-buy WWE at double the price he sold.
1. Battle of the Billionaires
At WrestleMania 23, in the battle of the billionaire, both put their full set of hair on the line. Vince McMahon’s guy Umaga and Donald Trump’s guy Bobby Lashley had a head-to-head contest with Stone Cold Steve Austin as the special guest referee. During the match, when Stone Cold got knocked out, Vince allowed Shane McMahon to referee the match.
To stop McMahon from doing cheap tricks, Trump delivered a clothesline to Vince, to which the crowd erupted. Lashley won the match and McMahon tried to run away. Stone Cold, Trump and Lashley caught McMahon and shaved McMahon’s head. After shaving the head, Stone Cold delivered a stunner to Trump.
