Time and time again, Seth Rollins has made it clear that if there’s breath in his lungs, CM Punk will never become a World Champion in WWE. Rollins has followed through on his promise on multiple occasions, spoiling Punk chances.

Even after being eliminated in the men’s Elimination Chamber match, Rollins made sure that Punk doesn’t win and get a chance to fight for the title at WrestleMania.

Even at the Night of Champions 2025 where Punk was battling John Cena for the Undisputed WWE title was spoiled by Rollins who along with his henchmen Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed attacked Punk. While Rollins tried to cash in, his attempts were spoiled by Cena when went on to pin Punk and retain.

Rollins later clarified that he had no intentions to cash-in on Cena but was just there to make sure Punk doesn’t win. However, now things might have changed for Punk as he was able to win the gauntlet match and will likely repeat this success at SummerSlam.

Seth Rollins is out of action due to injury

Seth Rollins suffered a freak injury during his singles match against LA Knight at Saturday Night’s Main Event. The Visionary tweaked his knee during a spot when he was going for a moonsault from the ropes, due to the injury, an audible call was made during the match.

This injury has forced him out of action and despite Breakker and Reed’s attempt, Punk was able to win the gauntlet match. The Second City Saint might once again register a win against Gunther as Breakker and Reed will likely be occupied handling Roman Reigns.

While, beating Gunther is not an easy task, Punk can use his experience to pin the Ring General and capture the WWE World title for the first time in twelve years.
