Penta could have a top match at WWE SummerSlam 2025

WWE SummerSlam will be a history-making Premium Live Event for the global juggernaut this year. It will emanate on August 2nd and 3rd from MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. The show has already announced to feature marquee names and one more rising star is expected to be added to the first-ever two-night SummerSlam.

The superstar is former AEW star Penta. He has been making significant waves since his WWE debut in January and is likely to be featured in a match at the show. Here are five possible opponents for Penta at WWE SummerSlam 2025.

5. WWE World Tag Team Title Match

It has been over six months since Penta debuted in WWE. However, he is yet to taste championship gold. The drought could end at SummerSlam 2025 for Ciera Meido.

He could possibly find a partner on the Monday Night RAW roster and earn an opportunity to challenge The Judgement Day (Finn Bálor & JD McDonagh) for their WWE World Tag Team titles at SummerSlam this year.

4. Bronson Reed

As witnessed on RAW over the last few weeks, Penta had issues with Seth Rollins‘ cohorts. While Bron Breakker is expected to feud with another top star for SummerSlam, that leaves Bronson Reed open for a match.

This could be Penta’s opportunity to settle his differences in a hard-hitting showdown against the Tsunami expert.

3. El Grande Americano

Despite Penta taking out the OG El Grande Americano, Chad Gable, following past tensions, a new superstar has donned the American mask.

In a classic battle of rising luchadors, WWE SummerSlam 2025 could see Penta squaring off against this new El Grande Americano for a one-on-one showdown.

2. Rey Mysterio

Penta has openly stated that Rey Mysterio has been an inspiration for his career. Moreover, the fans witnessed them square off in the 2025 Royal Rumble match.

The crowd erupted at seeing the two top luchadors displaying excellent wrestling chops. So, a showdown between Mysterio and Penta could be a huge addition to the history-making SummerSlam this year.

The wrestling world has only seen Penta teaming up with his real-life brother, Rey Fenix in various companies as ‘The Lucha Bros.’

However, the two brothers are yet to compete against each other, that to at a marquee stage like WWE. The company could capitalize on this and add a top showdown between them for SummerSlam 2025.

Pentagón Jr. (born February 26, 1985) is a Mexican luchador enmascarado (masked professional wrestler). He is signed to WWE, where he performs on the Raw brand under the ring name Penta.

Are Penta and Rey Fenix brothers?

The Lucha Brothers were a Mexican professional wrestling tag team consisting of brothers Penta and Rey Fénix. They are signed to WWE, where Penta performs on the Raw brand while Fénix performs on the SmackDown brand.

Was Chad Gable injured by Penta?
